Abstract. In this paper, the thermal expansion characteristics of epoxy resin/crepe paper composite insulation structure for high-voltage DC bushing were studied. The results showed that when temperature was lower than the glass transition temperature(Tg) of epoxy resin, coefficients of thermal expansion along axial and radial direction of the insulation structure increased with increasing temperature; When higher than Tg, with an increasing temperature, the CTE along radial direction of the structure increased-even larger than the pure epoxy, while axial decreased. Tg is obtained by DSC. The

Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) are of global concern in this present era and white coats play an important role in the transmission of HAIs. The most common healthcare-associated bacteria are Enterococcus species, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumanni, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacter species (ESKAPE bugs). These healthcare-associated bacteria are capable of surviving on white coats which could act as fomites in the transmission of HAIs. The purpose of this study was to compare the duration of survival of healthcare-associated bacteria on differen

Currently, hybrid glass fiber-reinforced plastics (GFRPs) have attracted increasing attention as gradually common used materials. Glass/silk fiber hybrid reinforced plastic (GSFRP), a new kind of material, is designed aiming to create a kind of opaque effect of specific use. Three types of silk/glass composites with five layers of glass mats and a single layer of woven silk fabric lamina with small, medium and large crepe are fabricated by using the hand lay-up method to compare with pure GFRP. Abstract Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) is the most common blood cancer in the U.S. Our analysis of gene regulation in >100 NHL and normal B cell samples revealed a distinct profile of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) expression. Few lncRNAs have been characterized, and there are no guidelines for functional prediction or categorization. Therefore, we developed a novel computational approach: Correlative Recurrent Expression of Predicted Elements (CREPE), which integrates -omics data to create a correlative regression model to predict lncRNA function. CREPE analysis revealed several NHL-associa

Abstract The surface of tissue paper is relatively complex compared to other paper grades and consists of several overlapping structures like protruding fibres, crepe and fabric-based patterns at different spatial frequencies. The knowledge of tissue surface characteristics is crucial when it comes to improvement with respect to surface softness and the perceptual handfeel of tissue products. In this work we used the optical based, non-contact measurement principle of focus variation for surface characterization of dry-creped, textured and through air dried (TAD) tissue. It has been shown that bandages rapidly lose their ability to compress the leg in ambulant patients. However, they are still widely used following varicose vein surgery. We have measured the compression produced by crepe bandages, elastocrepe bandages or graduated high compression stockings following varicose vein surgery. Pressures exerted by the bandages and stockings were measured during the first 24 h following operation. Initially the bandages exerted greater pressures than the stockings. However, the bandaging techniques lost 13-38% of their compression in the first hour and 29–48% in 24
