Abstract:
One of the challenges that every country faces throughout history is how to preserve not only its territory and population, but also how to preserve its cultural assets in different times and in the face of different trials. Not only in times of war or armed conflict, but also in peace. In war or armed conflict, cultural assets suffer - they are destroyed or damaged as a result of armed actions. In peacetime, cultural property suffers during the execution of various criminal acts by individuals or organized criminal groups through their attempts to acquire individual cultural property of diffe

Abstract:
This paper argues that welfare programs are linked with the destruction of social capital, as measured by interpersonal trust in laboratory games. The paper employs experimental data for representative samples of individuals in four Latin American capital cities (Bogota, Lima, Montevideo, and San Jose), finding that participation in welfare programs damage trust. This result is robust to the inclusion of individual risk measures and a broad array of controls. The findings also support the notion that low take-up rates may be due to stigma linked with trust and social capital, rather than trans

Abstract:
Non-traditional methods of teaching are ways of improvement to the activity of the individual in the process of learning and creative work. It is the result from the destruction of usual stereotypes in knowledge and skills that starts off mechanisms of spontaneous activities, an integration of logical and evocative components. Current study examines the method of emotional and evocative drama art as a way of improvement to effectiveness in the learning and creative activities of the personality.

The Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki represent the horrors of war as places of the hundred-thousandfold killing of humans with scientific and industrial means. And as such Hiroshima and Nagasaki (to a lesser degree) became dominant symbols within global memory culture. In my paper I will juxtapose this form of commemoration with what Jeffrey Alexander claimed was an ongoing universalization of the Holocaust as a symbol of radical evil. This universalization also supposedly led to the globalization of aesthetic standards in museum designs of memorial museums worldwide, deriving from Holoc

Abstract:
Global value chains (GVCs) provide countries with opportunities to diversify trade, and boost productivity and growth by specializing in one stage of the production process. However, for the most part, Latin America and the Caribbean participation in GVCs remains low (18 percent) compared to Asia (28 percent) and Europe (34 percent). The COVID-19 pandemic, plus concerns regarding protectionism and the more frequent occurrence of natural disasters, have provided incentives for countries and companies to reassess their positions in global value chains. This crisis has taken a huge toll on trade,

Pit, Yann Le, Didier Caron, and Benoit Acker. PR-306-123740-R01 Comparative Analysis of Pipeline Inspection Technologies Using Guided Waves. Pipeline Research Council International, Inc. (PRCI), 2016. http://dx.doi.org/10.55274/r0011017.

Full text
Abstract:
This document describes the analysis of performances of five non-destructive testing technologies for pipelines by propagation of ultrasound waves guided within the thickness along the axial direction. The tested tools are tools available on the market at the time that this document was written. Their individual performances have been analysed using an identical operating protocol so that they can be compared with each other. A comparative analysis has been made, so that the configurations for which the use of guided waves may or may not be envisaged can be deduced.

Montoya, Silvia, and Guillermo Mondino. The Effects of Labor Market Regulations on Employment Decisions by Firms: Empirical Evidence for Argentina. Inter-American Development Bank, 2000. http://dx.doi.org/10.18235/0011240.

Abstract:
There are few Latin American countries that produced such a remarkable turnaround in policies and outcomes as Argentina did in the 1990s. The large number of reforms yielded surprisingly strong growth and the near-disappearance of inflation. Perhaps the most striking change took place in the labor market, where job creation and destruction reigned in earnest. There, where reforms were moderate, high open unemployment was the result. This paper looks at the potential effect regulations might have on labor demand dynamics. In particular, we try to ascertain how movements in labor costs influence

Review question / Objective: The aim of this article is to obtain an in-depth review of ameloblastoma tumor to determine the available level of evidence and the possible benefit of targeted therapeutics for the treatment of BRAF V600E mutation in ameloblastoma tumor. Condition being studied: Ameloblastoma is an epithelium-derived odontogenic tumour that evolved since the prehistoric era. Ameloblastoma is unique among the odontogenic neoplasms occurring in the jaws, because of its locally invasive behaviour and high recurrence rate. Sometimes heat treated components fail to pass the specified minimum mechanical requirements (yield strength, Charpy V-notch toughness). The influence of the complete heat cycle on the end results is not well understood and without a N.D.T. method for determining these properties the pipeline companies have difficulty in determining acceptable and non-acceptable individual components. In the quality control process for heat treated components, it is important to have a non-destructive testing technique available for predicting the yield strength and, if necessary, Charpy V-notch properties. Abstract:
This working paper maps and analyses the foreign policy of thirteen selected European Union (EU) Member States (MS) with a focus on their present and long-term defence and security strategies. It considers high-level primary sources in order to evaluate possible incompatibilities in foreign policy amongst EU MS and to assess challenges and possibilities for the external action of the Union in the areas of security and defence. The mapping exercise reveals that EU MS tend to hold a common assessment of their security and geopolitical environments, and largely converge around priority challenges
