The aim of this work was to develop validate a dissolution test for Methyldopa and Hydrochlorothiazide in combination tablets using spectrophotometric method. The dissolution established conditions were 900 mL of 0.1M HCl pH 1.0 as dissolution medium, using a paddle apparatus at a stirring rate of 50 rpm. The drug release was evaluated by UV spectrophotometric method the areas of solution were recorded at 274-284 nm and266-276 nm for Methyldopa and Hydrochlorothiazide respectively. The objective of this study was to measure metabolic heat production in mild-moderate hypertensives when given chronic alpha-methyldopa for control of hypertension and to compare this with hydrochlorothiazide. Four men and one woman, age range 29–55 years, euthyroid, and not previously on alpha-methyldopa, had their drugs replaced by placebo for 4 weeks, and then alpha-methyldopa or hydrochlorothiazide was randomized single blindedly to patients. The dose of each drug was increased until the ambulatory diastolic blood pressure was less than 95 mmHg (1 mmHg = 133.322 Pa), and then the dose was

ABSTRACT: The objective of this work is to formulate Nanoplex formulation which enhances the drug solubility and also to enhance the dissolution rate of the formulation which were prepared. Complex nanoplex is formed when positively or negatively charged molecules of the drug react with oppositely charged polyelectrolyte. In this study, we use hydrochlorothiazide as a study drug and dextran sulphate as anionic polyelectrolyte. During the procedure crystalline nanoplex is formed due to electrostatic interactions between API and polyelecrolyte. The nanoplex shaped by this method upgrades dissolv

Hydrochlorothiazide (HTZ) and Valsartan (VAL) are poorly soluble drugs in BCS classes IV and II. This study aimed to develop a method to assess the dissolution profile of tablets containing HTZ (12.5 mg) and VAL (160 mg) as a fixed-dose combination, using in silico tools to evaluate products marketed in Brazil and Peru. Firstly, in vitro dissolution tests were performed using a fractional factorial design 33−1. Then, DDDPlus™ was used to carry out experimental design assays of a complete factorial design 33.
