AbstractAs essential specifications of correlation domain for signal quality evaluation, distortions of the S-curve, including bias and slope distortions of the zero-crossing point, are usually selected as indicators of optimisation in the process of designing the channels of receivers or navigation satellites. Focusing on this issue, we present a detailed analysis of slope distortion in the presence of group delay and amplitude distortions. After validating the theoretical results, we present further discussions about the impacts of different group delay terms on slope distortions. The result

The fisheye lens is a kind of ultra wide angle lens, which can produce a big super-wide-angle lens distortion. In order to cover a large scope of light, barrel distortion is artificially added to the optical system. However, in some cases this distortion is not allowed, then it requires calibrations of those distortions. Most of the traditional distortion calibration method uses target plane calibration to do it. This paper discusses the way of design fisheye lens, through which we can know the forming process of distortion clearly. Based on this paper, a simple and effective calibration metho

The beam is an important component in agantry machining center, and its deformation is believed to have asignificant impact on both the machining accuracy and the machining performance. In this research, the finite element models of a complete gantry machining center and the crossbeam are established, in whicht he restraint and boundary conditions for the finite element analysis are also introduced. It is noted thatthe impact of balance cylinders on the key components is fully considered when dealing with the force analysis. Computed results of the static characteristic analysis showed that th

The Atomic Force Microscope is an extremely sensitive force measuring instrument which routinely measures the force exerted on the AFM tip by the sample, with a routine force resolution in the pico Newton range. By plotting the distance that the z-piezo is extended vs. cantilever deflection (force), one can produce what is traditionally known as a force distance (F/S) curve. Analysis of the F/S curve allows one to extract information on micro elasticity and plasticity of cell surfaces as well as the magnitude of any tip-sample binding that may occur. To increase the utility of the F/S curve fo

Lithium is atomised in an air–acetylene flame within a longitudinal magnetic field. Birefringent and dichroic signals are separately measured using a pulsed hollow cathode source. The arrangement is found to give isotopic selectivity and is useable down to concentrations of about 10 μg/mL. The signal ratio of birefringence: dichroism is found to be approximately independent of sample concentration at the high and low extremes of the calibration curve. However, severe distortions occur at intermediate concentrations. In addition, a reversal of signal magnitudes is observed between 6Li and 7Li.

Rocking curve imaging (RCI) is a quantitative version of monochromatic beam diffraction topography that involves using a two-dimensional detector, each pixel of which records its own `local' rocking curve. From these local rocking curves one can reconstruct maps of particularly relevant quantities (e.g. integrated intensity, angular position of the centre of gravity, FWHM). Up to now RCI images have been exploited in the reflection case, giving a quantitative picture of the features present in a several-micrometre-thick subsurface layer. Recently, a three-dimensional Bragg diffraction imaging

Swept method is a commonly used parametric modeling method for helical gears. For the problem of tooth profiles distortion and parameters loss in parametric design, the symmetric equations that used to establish involutes and dedendum transition curves are proposed. The boundaries between teeth and the starting and ending angles of tooth profile curve are precisely calculated. Feature-based swept methods are applied as solutions. Instance modeling results demonstrate the accuracy of the methods and also reflect their preciseness and convenience.

According to the predistortion technique of travelling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs), by analyzing TWTA model proposed by Saleh, the gain transmission function curve and phase expansion function curve of the predistortion circuit are deduced. The linear range of TWTA could be enlarged by using predistortion technique, and invariable gain together with zero phase excursions are reached at the working region of the linearized TWTA. As a kind of microwave and millimeter wave amplifiers, TWTAs find a wide utilization in communication, radar and electronic countermeasure applications. To obtain high

In addition, it aims to present the prediction of the increase in consumption over the years and correlate it with the possible increase in the harmonic distortion of stress. This analysis is essential for the studies of the connection impacts, allowing the estimation and evaluation of the energy quality through the harmonic voltage distortions over the years.
