The OBJECTIVE of the study is to evaluate the approaches of surgical treatment of complicated forms of liver echinococcosis. MATERIAL AND METHODS. During the period from 2010 to 2016, surgical treatment of liver echinococcosis was performed in 202 patients, 161 patients of them (79.7 %) had primary echinococcosis, and 41 patients (20.3 %) had recurrent echinococcosis. The work is based on the retrospective analysis of the results of preoperative examination, intraoperative ultrasound examination and treatment of 46 (22.8 %) patients with complicated echinococcosis – with isolated liver damage

Echinococcosis of the liver is an important problem of hematology, which in many cases is solved only with the help of surgical methods of treatment. This is primarily due to the significant number of patients with cystic echinococcosis of the liver in endemic regions, despite the implementation of preventive measures. There are still many complicated and unsolved questions concerning differential diagnostics and choice of tactics of surgical treatment for liver echinococcosis. The problem of surgical treatment of liver echinococcosis is far from its final solution. Because of the rareness of these zoonotic diseases, pathologists have limited diagnostic experience in the analysis of the lesions caused by Echinococcus tapeworms. In the plane belt of Dagestan, Echinococcus granulosus is a widespread zoonosis that poses a danger to humans and animals. Abiotic, biotic and anthropogenic factors play an important role in the formation of larval echinococcosis. We have studied the spread, and seasonal and age dynamics of echinococcosis in the plane belt of Dagestan. The average E. granulosus (larvae) prevalence reaches 34.8%. The maximum E. granulosus (l.) prevalence of 18.3% was found in sheep in low-lying wetlands, the infection intensity was 8–17 specimens, and the minimum prevalence was 5.0% and 2–3 specimens in semides

On the territory of the slaughterhouse located in the Moscow Region, a veterinary and sanitary assessment of carcasses and internal organs was carried out in accordance with the Customs Union Technical Regulations "On the safety of meat and meat products" No. 68 TR CU 034/2013 dated 09/10/2013 for the infection with larval cestodiasis. As a result, 3 species of pathogens were recorded: Echinococcus granulosus, Cysticercus taenuicollis and Coenurus cerebralis. E. granulosus larvae was detected in the parenchymal organs in 211 cases, which corresponds to 42.2%

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: With the popularity of laparoscopy and minimally invasive technology, laparoscopy has been applied to hepatic echinococcosis. However, the safety and efficacy of traditional laparotomy and laparoscopy are unclear. This study aimed to explore the advantages and disadvantages of laparoscopy and traditional laparotomy with a Meta-analysis.To compare the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic with that of traditional laparotomy. Condition being studied: There still exist controversies about the advantages and disadvantages of laparoscopic and traditional open surgery.

Abstract:
INTRODUCTION: Hydatid Cyst is a zoonotic infection caused by the larval form of parasite tapeworm Ecchinococcus granulosus. It is most commonly found in liver and rarely found in the spleen. It presents with vague symptoms and usually grows slowly. In this report we describe a rare advanced presentation of a splenic echinococcosis mimicking malignancy. CASE REPORT: A 16yr old female patient presenting with complaints of pain in left lumbar region since three months. Preliminary examination showed splenomegaly with tenderness. Abdominal CT scan showed evidence of well dened, round peripherally

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: Does sarcopenia affect the future liver remnant growth after portal vein embolization/ligation (thus affect the subsequent hepatectomy in patients with liver cancers)? Condition being studied: Portal vein embolization (PVE) and Associating Liver Partition and Portal vein Ligation for Staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) are two commonly used procedures for hypertrophy of the remaining liver before major liver resection in patients with liver cancer. However, around 30% patients who undergo PVE cannot proceed to liver resection due to insufficient liver growth. Many factors m
