งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและคัดเลือกวัชพืชในประเทศไทย ที่มีความสามารถในการสะสมทองแดง สังกะสี และนิกเกิล จากนั้นศึกษาผลของตัวคีเลตและกรดอินทรีย์ที่มีต่อการสะสมทองแดง สังกะสี และนิกเกิลของวัชพืช วัชพืชที่นำมาศึกษาครั้งนี้มี 5 ชนิดคือ ต้อยติ่ง (Ruellia tuberosa (Burm.f.) Hochr.) ผักปลาบใบกว้าง (Commelina benghalensis L.) ผักบุ้งรั้ว (Ipomoea digitata L.) ผักบุ้งพุ่ม (Ipomoea fistulosa Mart. ex Choisy) และบานไม่รู้โรยป่า (Gomphrena celosioides Mart. (G. decumbens)) ผลการศึกษาพบว่าต้อยติ่งเป็นวัชพืชที่สามารถสะสมทองแดง สังกะสี และนิกเกิลทั้งต้นได้มากที่สุดเท่ากับ 1,522 4,111 และ 7,332 มิลล

Rhizoferrin, a siderophore produced by Rhizopus arrhizus, has been shown in previous studies to be an outstanding Fe carrier to plants. However, calculations based on stability constants and thermodynamic equilibrium lead to contradicting conclusions. In this study a kinetic approach was employed to elucidate this apparent contradiction and to determine the behavior of rhizoferrin under conditions representing soil and nutrient solutions.
