Abstract:
The intake of natural water or waste water from a depth exceeding the suction height of centrifugal pumps is mainly carried out due to additional water supply at the suction of the pump. However, this process becomes more complicated if it is necessary to purify water from mechanical impurities. The purpose of the presented work is to consider this issue based on the development and study of the parameters of an ejector water intake treatment plant equipped with a pressure-vacuum hydrocyclone. The main contribution of the ongoing research is the establishment of the technological parameters of

This article presents a reconstruction plan for an underground water deferrization station in southern of Tyumen Oblast, including a feasibility study. The reconstruction is necessary due to unsatisfactory water quality delivered to consumers, primarily high manganese content. Analysis of the initial and treated water quality from the existing plant revealed key factors affecting the treatment processes. The proposed technological modifications consider the groundwater’s unique composition, in particular, the high dissolved carbon dioxide leading to low pH, along with the operational experienc

The article describes a new structural and technological scheme of a thermal vacuum extruder, where chambers for preliminary and final dehydration of the finished product interact with each other by means of an ejector. The steam pumped out of the final dehydration chamber by means of a vacuum pump moves to the high-pressure part of the ejector and is removed outside for regeneration of the thermal energy spent on machine technological process. Simultaneously, this air flow ensures the steam movement from preliminary dehydration chamber of the extruder to the low-pressure part of the ejector.

In order to achieve an efficient and economical advanced drinking water system, the relationship between operating conditions, membrane filtration flux and water qualities was examined by using a pilot plant consisting of ozonation facility, ozone resistant microfiltration (MF) module and granular activated carbon (GAC) tower. It was found that keeping residual ozone of more than 0.3 mg/L on the membrane surface is necessary in order to obtain a high membrane filtration flux. Withy ozone dosage of 3 mg/L by ejector and filtration by dead-end mode, this new system provided a high membrane filtr

(Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) The fruit-bat Rousettus aegyptiacus (Pteropodidae) in Israel consumes a variety of cultivated and wild fruits. The aim of this study was to explore some of its qualities as a dispersal agent for six fruit-bearing plant species. The feeding roosts of the fruit-bat are located an average of 30 m from its feeding trees and thus the bats disperse the seeds away from the shade of the parent canopy. The bat spits out large seeds but may pass some (2%) of the small seeds «4 mg) through its digestive tract. However, neither the deposited seeds nor the

Heart failure (HF) is a significant global healthcare burden with increasing prevalence and high morbidity and mortality rates. The diagnosis and management of HF are closely tied to ejection fraction (EF), a crucial parameter for evaluating disease severity and determining treatment plans. This paper emphasizes the urgent need to maintain EF during heart failure, highlighting the distinct phenotypes of HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). It discusses the complexities of HFrEF pathophysiology and its negative impact on patient outcomes, st

Early detection of comorbid conditions can help in creating personalized treatment plans. Multiple fluid biomarkers can be used to enhance the diagnostic accuracy of identifying comorbidity. This study aims to distinguish non-comorbid and comorbid conditions using the risk factor profile of multiple fluid biomarkers, such as creatine phosphokinase, platelet count, serum creatinine, and ejection fraction. ABSTRACT Suborbital analysis (SA) is presented here as the study of ballistics around a spherical planet. SA is the subset of orbital mechanics where the elliptic trajectory intersects Earth’s surface at launch point A and fall point B, known as the A-to-B suborbital problem, both launch and fall points being vector variables. Spreadsheet tools are offered for solution to this problem, based on the preferred simplified two-body model. Although simplistic in top-level description, this problem places essential reliance on reference frame transformations. Launch conditions in the local frame of

Abstract The first Czecho-slovak nuclear power plant A-1 was shut down after an accident in 1977 and it is now under decommissioning. In spite of that, some technological systems in nuclear power plant must remain in operation. The planned service life of these systems has already been exceeded and their technical design is not suitable for present requirements. These operated technological systems must be repaired and reconstructed. The special drainage system is one of the technological systems that must be in operation during the decommissioning process.
