Method: Etiological, gender, age and laboratory characteristics of chronic viral hepatitis C (СVHC) were studied and analyzed. The distribution of patients depending on the virus genotype, the activity degree and the severity of liver fibrosis were found out. Indices of non-specific reactivity, endogenous intoxication and inflammation in the course of СVHC, their dependence on treatment were studied. Introduction. Frequent comorbidity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and myocardial infarction is due to the commonality of a number of etiopathogenetic links and the development of endogenous intoxication syndrome. The convincing markers of endogenous intoxication syndrome are medium and low molecular weight molecules including medium and low molecular weight substances and oligopeptides.Aim. The calculated indices such as leukocytic (LI), hematological (HI) and nuclear (NI) became the most commonly used in clinical practice to determine the endogenous intoxication. The aim of this study was to determine informativeness of the calculation methods for verification of the endogenous intoxication in workers depending on the content of lead in their blood. The calculated indices (nuclear, hematological and leukocyte) have been carried out in the blood of 146 workers exposure to lead, whose concentration in the air of the working area exceeded the maximum permissible concentration 1.4–1

Changes of the indices of the level of endogenous intoxication in 122 patients with an alcoholic lesion of the liver have been studied. It has been established that a high level of endogenous intoxication is identified in these patients connected with a reduction of the concentration of endogenous albumin in the peripheral blood, due to an accumulation of molecules of medium mass, a decrease of the effective concentration of albumin and the toxin-binding ability of albumin.
