Abstract:
An ilimquinone (IQ) mixture isolated from Hippiospongia metachromia, consisting of IQ and epi-ilimaquinone (epi-IQ), exerts anti-HIV, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer effects. An HPLC-MS/MS method was developed for simultaneous determination of the two epimers in rat plasma, separating them using a biphenyl column. Ascorbic acid is added during the sample preparation to ensure the stability of both isomers. The plasma concentrations of the isomers were monitored following intravenous and oral administration of the IQ mixture in rats as well as the individual epimers that were

1-Ethylamide-, 1-ethanolamide of D-Cloprostenol and their 15-epi-isomers were synthesized by amidation of methyl esters of D-Cloprostenol or 15-epi-Cloprostenol. The crude compounds were purified by pressure chromatography on silica gel and fully characterized by IR, 1H-, 13C-, 2D-NMR (COSY and HETCOR) and MS spectroscopy.

Abstract:
Farnesyl diphosphate (FPP) and all fifteen positional isomers of (13C1)FPP were enzymatically converted by the bacterial terpene cyclases corvol ether synthase from Kitasatospora setae, the epi-cubebol synthase from Streptosporangium roseum, and the isodauc-8-en-11-ol synthase from Streptomyces venezuelae. The enzyme products were analysed by GC–MS and GC–QTOF MS2 and the obtained data were used to delineate the EIMS fragmentation mechanisms of the two sesquiterpene ethers corvol ethers A and B, and the sesquiterpene alcohols epi-cubebol and isodauc-8-en-11-ol.

Abstract:
Pistacia lentiscus L. is a medicinal plant that grows spontaneously throughout the Mediterranean basin and is traditionally used to treat diseases, including diabetes. The aim of this work consists of the evaluation of the α-glucosidase inhibitory effect (i.e., antidiabetic activity in vitro) of different extracts from the leaves, stem barks and fruits of P. lentiscus harvested on mountains and the littoral of Tizi-Ouzou in Algeria. Metabolomic profiling combined with a chemometric approach highlighted the variation of the antidiabetic properties of P. lentiscus according to the plant’s part a

Three qualities of Eastern Polynesian sandalwood oil were analyzed using GC and GC-MS. Sixty-six constituents were identified: 5 monoterpenes, 58 sesquiterpenes and 3 others. The main constituents of the essential oils were ( Z)-α-santalol and ( Z)-β-santalol. Beside chemical composition, olfactory evaluation and chiral gas chromatography of β- and epi-β-bisabolol isomers confirmed the close relationship of Eastern Polynesian to East Indian and New Caledonian sandalwood oil.

Abstract Ocotea fasciculata presents yangambin (YAN) and its isomer epi-yangambin (EPI-YAN) as major lignans, which are employed as the plant markers for quality control purposes and as potential pharmacological compounds. However, a gap between the pure isomers and safety and efficacy protocols is faced by the scientific community. In this context, this work aimed to report (i) a new and advantageous purifying process in a semi-preparative scale for YAN and EPI-YAN isolation from Ocotea fasciculata, and (ii) an in vitro cytotoxicity study to estimate, for the first time, the LD50 values of th
