In this paper, we investigated excitation functions of (n, 2n) reactions on the target nuclei in the mass region (144≤A≤160) for some samarium, europium and gadolinium isotopes. Studies were performed for incident neutron energies between 1 MeV and 20 MeV. We used the ALICE/ASH and TALYS 1.4 codes to investigate the pre-equilibrium effects and the ALICE/ASH were used for the equilibrium effects. The effects of collision probabilities on pre-equilibrium excitation functions were also investigated.

The assumptions needed to prove the existence of an equilibrium in formal mathematical models are often questioned not only by older model builders but also by today’s formal model builders. Abstract:
An accurate prediction of a critical flow discharged from a pressurized pipe system is of most importance in such a safety analysis of nuclear power plants, since it provides the transient boundary conditions during the depressurization transients initiated by a pipe break in primary or secondary systems and during the over-pressurization transients resulting in a relief of coolant through valves. Mass and energy discharge through the opening of pressure boundary affects the system thermal hydraulic responses, that is, phase changes and flow distribution in the system, and the mass inventory r

Abstract:
Sorption of fission product vapors on metallic surfaces and dust particles is an important safety aspect of HTR reactors. Safety analyses of these reactors are performed using computer codes, such as MELCOR, RADAX, SPECTRA. These codes have sorption models allowing to compute the sorption rates of different fission products on surfaces. The code users must supply the model coefficients applicable for the particular surface and isotope. This paper describes the work performed to find relevant experimental data and find the sorption coefficients that represent well the available data for iodine

Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this Research Memorandum is to propose an approach to incorporating forest access cost functions into global general equilibrium models such as GTAP. Towards this end, we develop a long run access cost function which can be calibrated to national data on total forest land, currently inaccessible forest land, forest land rents, and expected rates of return on investment. This is illustrated for an 11 region aggregation of the GTAP-AEZ data base. We find that this long run function generates far too high a rate of annual access, and so we introduce a short run component w

Dixon, Peter, Michael Jerie, and Maureen Rimmer. Modern Trade Theory for CGE Modelling: the Armington, Krugman and Melitz Models. GTAP Technical Paper, 2015. http://dx.doi.org/10.21642/gtap.tp36.

Abstract:
This paper is for CGE modelers and others interested in modern trade theory. The Armington specification of trade, assuming country-level product differentiation, has been central to CGE modelling for 40 years. Starting in the 1980s with Krugman and more recently Melitz, trade theorists have preferred specifications with firm-level product differentiation. We draw out the connections between the Armington, Krugman and Melitz models, deriving them as successively less restrictive special cases of an encompassing model. We then investigate optimality properties of the Melitz model, demonstrating

Abstract:
This paper reports a method for converting versions 5 and 6 of the GTAP Data Base into a global SAM that is stored in both the GAMS data exchange (GDX) and Header Array (HAR) formats. The focus of attention is on the generation of a SAM representation of the GTAP Data Base that is fully consistent with the GTAP model; as such the resultant SAM can be readily used to calibrate a version of the GTAP model that had been coded in GAMS. The GAMS code used to generate the SAM representation of the GTAP Data Base is provided as a GAMS model library – this code has been tested with versions 5.3, 5.4 a

Abstract:
In response to the invasion of Ukraine, most OECD countries have announced punishing sanctions against Russia. In addition to targeting financial markets and service sectors, some countries have begun to impose restrictions on exports of Russia’s fossil fuels. In this paper, we analyze a scenario whereby most OECD countries put major restrictions on Russia’s energy exports. Results suggest that the short-term implications are likely to be non-trivial for EU – Russia’s largest energy export destination. Households’ real income could drop by 0.7-1.7 percent (relative to the reference case) with

Abstract:
This paper evaluates the impact of some key labor market reforms on rural-urban inequality and income distribution, using a household-disaggregated, recursive dynamic computable general equilibrium (CGE) model of China. We also explore how these factor market reforms interact with product market reforms currently underway as part of China’s WTO accession process. The simulation results show that the reforms in rural land rental market and Hukou system, as well as increasing off-farm labor mobility would reduce the urban-rural income ratio dramatically. Furthermore, the combination of WTO acces
