Abstract Crude Palm Oil (CPO) mainly contributes to Indonesia’s export duty receipts. However, high CPO exports have led to a need for more availability in the domestic market, impacting price increases. Therefore, the government implemented the CPO export duty policy several times, restructuring the export duty and currently uses ad nature or specific calculations (absolute value tariffs). This study compares CPO export duty in several periods based on the reference price range and CPO export duty rate. The data used are secondary time series data from July 2015 to December 2023 which were an

This study uses detailed product-level data to examine the trade deflection of Korean exports as a result of antidumping (AD) duty impositions. Given that APEC economies account for a large share of Korean exports and that AD duties are imposed on Korean exports, especially by the U.S. and China, this study focuses on Korean export deflection to APEC economies following AD duty impositions from the U.S. and China. We find robust evidence of Korean export deflection within APEC as a result of the imposition of AD duties by the U.S. and China. Moreover, intra-APEC trade deflection is associated

This paper develops a partial equilibrium model and employs it to analyze the immediate consequences of introducing an export duty. Published materials confirm that the general premise of duopoly models is that external and internal sales markets are segmented and that this segmentation determines the long-term orientation of models in which production is a variable. In contrast to existing theoretical approaches, the relationship between domestic and foreign sales markets assuming fixed production volumes makes it possible to arrive at short-term estimates of the consequences of introducing a

This paper studies the relationship between the profits of firms and countervailing duties in vertically related markets characterized by oligopolies. It is shown that a countervailing duty equal to the foreign export subsidy is required to neutralize the impact of foreign export subsidies on the profits of domestic firms. The domestic country has an incentive to impose a countervailing duty on foreign final goods even though foreign governments only subsidize exports of intermediate goods. In addition, foreign exporting firms may benefit from a countervailing duty more than a foreign export s

After arguing for the existence of this duty on Kantian grounds (i.e., as following from a duty to respect humanity), we address an objection from Kant himself, who thought that we cannot be obliged to perfect others (which attention ecology seems to demand). We rebut the objection and explore one (of two) sides of attention ecology, i.e., the duty understood as a duty of virtue (in contrast to a duty of right, which we explore in Chap. 6). Import revenues in the national budget represent an important flow of monetary resources for most countries, including the Republic of Moldova. This article will contain the study of the dependence of the share of import revenues in the budget, with such indicators as The Quality of Life Index or Human Development Index. The Republic of Moldova is dependent on customs revenues, namely the study of this type of revenue source is important for understanding the economic structure of revenues in the budget. As fuel prices continue to rise and as power draws become greater on tactical wheeled vehicles, the performance and efficiency of the power system becomes more important. Up to 40% of vehicular traffic in combat theater is dedicated to fuel and water logistics. Reduction in fuel consumption will result in less traffic and reduced exposure to IED’s as well as gains in cost efficiency. Advances in powertrain and vehicle systems are required to achieve these gains. Hy

The condition is somewhat similar to the elliptic circulation distribution of a finite wing, which was found by Prandtl [2]. In the present work the Larrabee model was programmed in VBA utilizing MS Excel and applied to a series of selected propellers. The minimum induced loss condition can be met for a

Abstract After having decarbonized almost the entire electricity matrix, the next step in the Uruguayan energy transition includes the development of a hydrogen economy, for which both local and export markets are being considered, based on vast untapped unconventional renewable resources potential onshore and offshore. For ANCAP (NOC), hydrogen is key in the transition to a low-carbon and sustainable energy company, hence initiating several actions including the assessment of the potential for hydrogen production from offshore wind. Black liquor gasification (BLG) technologies are under active commercial development in the United States and Europe. BLG has been proposed as a future replacement for Tomlinson boilers to provide more efficient, safer, environmentally-friendlier, and more cost-competitive chemical and energy recovery at kraft pulp and paper mills. Also, some pulping process improvements are more readily implemented with BLG than with black liquor combustion. Abstract:
This paper assesses the accuracy and completeness of import and export data in the Uganda Revenue Authority's ASYCUDA World system. It focuses on (1) identification details for importers/exporters, (2) consistency with value-added tax (VAT) and income tax returns, and (3) alignment with international databases. Significant data quality gaps are found, especially in exports data and imports under simplified regimes and customs duty exemptions. Notably, export data, particularly under the single customs territory (the East Africa region), is of poor quality, with untraceable exporter details and

Duty drawback schemes, which typically involve a combination of duty rebates and exemptions, are a feature of many countries' trade regimes. They are used in highly protected, developing economies as means of providing exporters with imported inputs at world prices, and thus increasing their competitiveness, while maintaining the protection on the rest of the economy. In China duty exemptions have been central to the process of trade reform and have led to a tremendous increase in processed exports utilizing imported materials. The retaliatory tariffs against U.S. agricultural exports emerging in mid-2018 have been removed by all countries except for China and Turkey. The tariffs put in place by Turkey largely targeted U.S. tree-nut exports.
