The paper envisages the results of calculation of a threedimensional viscous flow in 18 lowflow stages of centrifugal compressors in the range of optimal conditional flow coefficient Фopt = 0.007-0.018. Gasdynamic characteristics of the internal and polytropic pressure coefficients in full parameters were plotted and compared with experimental data. The calculated gasdynamic characteristics of viscous flow satisfying the engineering accuracy of calculations and experimental character of the curves were obtained using Ansys CFX software

This paper analyses effects of chemical reactions on reflected-shock flow fields in shock tubes. The method of linearized characteristics is applied to analyse gasdynamic disturbances due to chemical reactions. The analysis treats cases where combustible gas is highly diluted in inert gas, and assumes that flows are one-dimensional and that upstream flows in front of the reflected-shock waves are in the frozen state. The perturbed gasdynamic properties in the reflected-shock flow fields are shown to be expressible mainly in terms of a heat-release function for combustion process. In particular

The matter of developing counter-rotating fans for advanced next generation aeroengines with ducted and unducted propfans is very important [1]. Counter-rotating fans can be made with fixed blades. This article considers tractor propfans consisting of two counter-rotating rotors of variable pitch (VPR) which valuable property is the possibility to turn their blades about the radial axis in order they can take the optimal position in direct thrust regimes, and to obtain a reverse thrust when turning them by a rather large angle. In this case there is no necessity to use a bulky special clamshel

Modern large capacity steam turbine for fossil power plants should have a high efficiency to be competitive in today’s tough market. It should be compact, with a smaller mass for reducing cost. In these circumstances, an effective solution is to create a large capacity steam turbine that consists of integrated high-intermediate-pressure turbine (HIPT) and one low-pressure turbine (LPT). Greater heat drop as compared to a conventional turbine shall be provided in LPT of such steam turbine. With this rather high efficiency of the low-pressure turbine should be provided. One of the vital tasks related to the improvement of the efficiency of turbomachines is an increase in their operating altitude by reducing the influence of Reynolds numbers, Re, on the turbomachine parameters. Therefore, the results presented in this work on the effect of Re on parameters of an axial compressor composed of two high-loaded stages are attractive both from scientific and practical points of view. This work presents the results of experimental investigations of Re effect on gas-dynamic characteristics of a highly-loaded two-stage compressor (HPC-2), simulating the first two stage
