Abstract:
A variety of signs and symptoms related to the gastrointestinal tract, including the liver, can be found as a presenting symptom of an inborn error of metabolism in adults. In particular hepatomegaly, a frequent symptom of lysosomal storage disorders and hyperammonemia not caused by acquired liver disease are manifestations of a late presentation of a metabolic disorder. A wide variety of other symptoms and signs including jaundice, abdominal pain or diarrhea, may be caused by toxic metabolites or storage of undergraded macromolecules as well.

The chapter is divided into investigations of the effects of SLE on the following systems: haematological, immunological, biochemical, renal, cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastroenterolog

Abstract:
Over the last two decades, there has been a marked improvement in the quality of study design and statistical rigour of gastroenterology studies. However, the complexity of gastroenterological problems has limited the size of the studies. Biological therapy in inflammatory bowel disease has been a therapeutic landmark in therapeutics in gastroenterology, not only for increasing the sophistication in study design, but also for stimulating debate on fundamental goals of therapy. In hepatology, antiviral therapy has established large and robust multinational randomized controlled trials. Interven
