Abstract:
The nanoscale peeling of the graphene sheet on the graphite surface is numerically studied by molecular mechanics simulation. For center-lifting case, the successive partial peelings of the graphene around the lifting center appear as discrete jumps in the force curve, which induce the arched deformation of the graphene sheet. For edge-lifting case, marked atomic-scale friction of the graphene sheet during the nanoscale peeling process is found. During the surface contact, the graphene sheet takes the atomic-scale sliding motion. The period of the peeling force curve during the surface contact

Due to the continual improvement of CMP technologies, and the need for polishing delicate wafers at high speed, graphite impregnated pads (GiP) dressed by brazed organic dia mond disks (BODD) can double the throughput of wafer-pass at the reduced cost of ownership (CoO). The increased polishing rate is due to the act of nano graphite particles that absorb slurry. The nano graphite particles coated with chemical and abrasive can achieve high removal rate without causing scratches on the wafer. In addition, nano graphite particles do not stick to wafer surfaces, so they can be cleaned easily. BO

The magnetic birefringence of the water suspension of materials containing up to 5% of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) was investigated in this work. The observed magneto-optic effect may be considered as a superposition of competitive effects. The negative one is due to the presence of graphite nanoclusters in the suspension, and the positive effect is due to the stick-like nanostructures such as MWNTs and their aggregates. It was found that the speed of sedimentation for nanotubes is less than it for graphite-like particles. As a result, the enrichment process takes place.

A pencil is a graphite stick and clay combination, sometimes with a colour pigment, encased mostly in a wooden cylindrical container. A pencil has two main parts: the “lead” which is a working part of the pencil and the “jacket” which surrounds it. The lead was originally made from a metal element which is called ‘lead’ in England. The metal lead is poisonous and it does not make such good marks as graphite. That is why people started to use graphite instead of lead. The jacket of a pencil is usually made of wood.

Abstract:
The fuel cell is one of promising environment-friendly energy sources for the next generation. The bipolar plate is a major component of the PEM fuel cell stack, which takes a large portion of stack cost. In this study, as alternative materials for bipolar plate of PEM fuel cells, graphite composites were fabricated by compression molding. Graphite particles mixed with epoxy resin were used as the main substance to provide electric conductivity. To achieve desired electrical properties, specimens were made with different mixing ratio, processing pressure and temperature and tested. To increase

Abstract:
The paper discusses the methodology and a computational exercise analyzing the processes taking place in the graphite stack of an RBMK reactor in case of a pressure tube rupture caused by overheating. The methodology of the computational analysis is implemented in integrated code U_STACK which models thermal-hydraulic and mechanical processes in the stack with a varying geometry, coupled with the processes going on in the circulation loop and accident localization (confinement) system. Coolant parameters, cladding and pressure tube temperatures, pressure tube ballooning and rupture, coolant ou
