Software and hardware methods have been developed to correct images for spatial and intensity distortions produced by optical and electro-optical components in X-ray area detectors. Spatial distortions are divided into two types: gross distortions produced by the inherent properties of the detector components and local distortions formed by irregularities in the components. Intensity distortions are separated into three types: those caused by background nonuniformity; those resulting from pixel-dependent nonuniform intensity response; and those resulting from time-dependent variations in backg

It is well established that misallocation of factor resources lowers productivity. In this paper, I use data from both formal and informal firms to study distortions in input and output markets as sources of misallocation in the Indian manufacturing sector. My work extends the seminal work of Hsieh and Klenow (2009). I consider output, capital, raw material, energy, and service sector distortions in a monopolistically competitive framework to measure the aggregate dispersion in total factor revenue productivity (TFPR). Performing actions in VR on behalf of the avatar contributes to the appearance of distortions in the perception of one’s own body due to the diffuse effect of actualizing the operational image at the moment of purposeful activity (the subj

Abstract High-level economic growth during the 1960s gave Japan the world’s second largest gross national product and promoted it to ‘economic power’ status. A shift to emphasis on the heavy and chemical industries was realized, trade surpluses took fairly firm root, and the living standard of the Japanese people improved. On the other hand, however, high-level growth also brought with it certain problems related to areas where improvements were relatively delayed and those where high-level growth had produced serious distortions.
