Abstract:
Recently, digital circuitry has demanded a decrease in space and power by decreasing time while simultaneously improving performance in speed. This has resulted in a need for more efficient use of the available space. Adders are fundamental components that are used in the construction of digital circuits. As a consequence of this, the performance of adders has to be improved in order to enhance the performance of integrated circuits that are used in the real world. The creation of a novel parallel prefix adder (PPA) architecture known as Hybrid PPA is the primary topic of this article. Hybrid

Multiplication and addition are most widely and oftenly used arithmetic computations performed in all digital signal processing applications. Multiplication is the basic arithmetic operation which is present in many part of the digital computer especially in signal processing systems such as graphics and computation system. It requires substantially more hardware resources and processing time than addition and subtraction. In fact, 8.72% of all the instruction in typical processing units is multiplication. This paper deals with the basic multiplier that is shift and add multiplier. Accurate op

In the field of pattern synthesis, the design of arrays to synthesis optimized sum and difference patterns in a successive manner is an important problem in most of the radars. Although several researchers published many papers in the open literature, investigations are made by the authors to design arrays of discrete radiators using a well-formulated Genetic Algorithm (GA). The practical constraints are taken into account to design an amplitude distribution to produce the sum pattern with desired side lobe levels without broadening the main beam. Such sum patterns are found to be very useful

SummaryA geometrical methodology for automatic machine tool command generation is introduced. The geometric entities relevant to machine tool operation are unambiguously defined by volume models. A vector sum operator is used to determine regions of the configuration space of the machine tool which correspond to undesired collisions, cavity access and material removal. Some indication of how cutter paths are generated is given and a practical implementation for the case of machining two and a half dimensional components under two and a half axis control is discussed in more detail.

We have constructed a multiplex infrared-visible sum-frequency (SF) spectrometer. Picosecond narrow-bandwidth visible laser light (full width at half-maximum (FWHM) ∼8 cm−1, 400 nm) was obtained by sum-frequency mixing of a pair of phase-conjugated broad-bandwidth pulses generated from femtosecond laser light (∼110 fs, 800 nm). Femtosecond broad-band infrared laser light (FWHM ∼280 cm−1, 3.4 μm) was obtained as a difference frequency mixing output of the signal and idler lights of an optical parametric amplifier pumped by the femtosecond laser light. Classic replacement rates fail to provide meaningful conclusions because they can only be calculated for around half the retirees. This paper proposes an alternative figure, the so-called life cycle replacement rate, which relates individuals’ pension payments to the average real income over their whole working history. In sum, work history related characteristics like marital status, income or retirement age strongly influence individuals’ replacement rates. Furthermo

This chapter explores the legislative interface between data protection and the professional journalistic media under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Like the Data Protection Directive (DPD), the GDPR mandates that States adopt derogations ‘necessary’ for reconciling two competing fundamental rights. However, broadly mirroring the situation under the DPD, there remain considerable differences at local level. Northern European countries have tended to set out wide and deep derogations for journalism, whilst Southern and Eastern Europe have often stipulated that this activity adhe

Though, in becoming a viable alternative, greater work must be done in driving their capital costs down towards that of non-renewable technologies. An emerging solution is to combine offshore wind and wave energy devices within the same marine space, offering the potential benefits of increased power generation and shielding of structures in lee. There is growing consensus that an emerging skill gap could impose human costs and constraints on Cambodia’s economic growth and development. The country is facing a shortage of skilled human resources even for low-to-medium skill intensive industries. There is a widening gap between the skills that industries and businesses need and what the education institutions, whether academic or vocational training, are producing. Cambodia’s skill gap is emerging at a time when the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is preparing to launch the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. The AEC w
