<p> The purpose of the study was to explore the perceptions of university students with disabilities and the factors that contribute to or deter them from accessing Disabled Student Services. The sample was based on availability and convenience and consisted of 36 students. In this country little research has been undertaken into the vast array of difficulties faced by students and the stressors that contribute to them, particularly in the professions allied to medicine. For the literature review, a systematic search was conducted of six databases to investigate the effectiveness of brief training workshops with school staff about student mental health. Mental health problems have increased among adolescents in Sweden and research suggests that contextual matters could be of importance over and beyond individual socio-demographic characteristics. One such social context is school, where both the student composition of the school and its support can influence student health. This study explored the distribution of psychosomatic health complaints (PHC) and perceived teacher support (PTS) as well as the association between PTS and PHC, across school segregated profiles. Compliance with hand hygiene is widely recognized as the most important factor in preventing transmission of infection to patients in healthcare settings (Haas and Larson, 2007). Hand hygiene dramatically decreases the potential pathogens on hands and is considered the first measure for decreasing the risk of transmitting organisms to patients, healthcare professionals, and family members. Noncompliance with hand hygiene practices has been shown to increase healthcare-associated infections, costing hospitals $35.7-$45 billion each year (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2012).
