Hook of hamate fracture occurs in baseball players during bat swing. These fractures are usually treated by excision of the fracture fragment and the players can return to the game without delay. We report a professional baseball player who presented with a hook of hamate fracture. He gave history of undergoing excision of the hook 4 years earlier for a fracture of the hook. He underwent re-excision of the regenerated hook and was asymptomatic at his final follow-up. Level of Evidence: Level V (Therapeutic)

Background and Aims: During the 2008 Olympics, the regulations saw major revisions to modernize and improve fairness. Electronic scoring methods were used to assess points objectively, eliminating the need for subjective referee judgment. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate taekwondo athletes from 2008 to 2020, including 64 athletes in total, with divisions into men's taekwondo (under 58 kg, under 68 kg, over 80 kg, and over 80 kg) and women's taekwondo (under 49 kg, under 57 kg, under 67 kg, and over 67 kg), each group comprising 32 athletes. This article examines a number of Robin Hood novels written for children in the late-Victorian and Edwardian periods. The article finds that the ideology of the public school ethos, or “games ethic,” is diffused throughout the novels: the “New” Imperialism of the public schools of the late 1800s became increasingly militaristic and imperialist, and this imperialist ideology is reflected in the late-Victorian and Edwardian Robin Hood texts.

Southern bluefin tuna (SBT; Thunnus maccoyii) are a popular component of the recreational large pelagic game fishery in Australia. The fishery is managed using individual fisher catch limits. Fifty-nine pop-up archival transmitting (PAT) tags were attached to individual SBT to estimate postrelease survival (PRS) rates. Fish caught on lures configured with J-hooks (n = 44) and those caught on circle hooks (n = 8) had similar PRS rates and were combined to increase sample size, revealing a PRS estimate of 83.0% (95% CI: 75.9%–90.7%, n = 54). Antifragility is a property of software that increases its quality as a result of errors, faults, and attacks. Such antifragile software systems proactively accepts the errors and learns from these errors and relies on test-driven development methodology. In this article, an innovative approach is proposed which uses a fault injection methodology to perform the task of quality assurance. Such a fault injection mec

This essay argues that the unique game of pluck-buffet which features A Lytell Geste of Robyn Hode complicates a literary gaming paradigm that usually equates noble birth with quality of character or skill. Though chivalric narratives tend to prioritize noble heroes as worthy winners, a reader of the Geste cannot presuppose the winner when a pluck-buffet challenge between Robin Hood and the disguised King begins. The reader knows that Robin is the more skilled player—and that a win against the King would symbolically undermine the medieval understanding of divine order. Robin does eventually l

The team sports game video features complex background, fast target movement, and mutual occlusion between targets, which poses great challenges to multiperson collaborative video analysis. This paper proposes a video semantic extraction method that integrates domain knowledge and in-depth features, which can be applied to the analysis of a multiperson collaborative basketball game video, where the semantic event is modeled as an adversarial relationship between two teams of players. We first designed a scheme that combines a dual-stream network and learnable spatiotemporal feature aggregation

Background Free throws serve as a crucial scoring mechanism in basketball games. As the level of basketball and the intensity of competition continue to improve, the frequency of free throw attempts gradually rises. However, with heightened game intensity, maintaining a consistent free throw success rate becomes increasingly challenging. The aim of this study was to investigate the eye movement characteristics exhibited by basketball players during free throws of varying intensities, as well as explore the relationship between these eye movement characteristics and free throw percentage.
