Intertextuality is an integral part of culture and indicator of literary activity. Modern science believes that the theory of intertextuality is based on understanding the development of literature as a continuous interaction of texts and world views, whereby each word of the work specifically adopts and process earlier literature and cultural material of various forms, and intertextual analysis is aimed at revealing such traces ‘alien words’ in the works. Fornaldarsagas or legendary sagas is an exemplary source to research the environment of Icelandic authors in the late Medieval time. They combine aspects of fiction writing, historical narrative, and folklore. The plots of these works had functioned in the memory a long time before reaching the pages of books. As a result of this, the meaning of these texts was constantly adapting to new conditions, leaving just some elements of the historic core. These aspects make Fornaldarsagas a valuable source for studying the collective memory and worldview of that time. In the current article, it was at

The results of the analysis indicate that within the measurably formulaic textural disposition, there are clearly defined motivic patterns and melodic shapes that are present in the work of all three composers. Abstract This chapter considers songs written and performed in Cork during the politically contentious period 1750-1850. Following a turbulent century from 1640 onward, major demographic resettlements in the city resulted in two distinct communities, divided according to religion, class, and language. The songs reflect these divisions. While art songs were based on European models, new popular and vernacular songs were created through engagement with source airs from diverse traditions and genres, resulting in hybridized musical and textual forms, which proliferated in Irish urban centres from

The article is devoted to the functioning features of precedent texts in modern media discourse. Texts by F.M. Dostoevsky, namely, fiction, journalism and epistolary heritage, served as the research material. The relevance of the study is explained by the intertextual nature of the modern media space. The article shows that along with the use of Dostoevsky's precedent texts as signs of high culture, the modern media space also actively manifests the features of the postmodern cultural paradigm. The specifics of the latter include metatextuality, irony, various kinds of transformation, e.g., in
