Išsamiai analizuojami vadybos sistemų integravimo ypatumai, kokybės ISO 9000 ir aplinkos apsaugos ISO 14000 vadybos sistemos standartų reikalavimai bei juos įtakojantys veiksniai, kokybės bei aplinkosaugos sistemų naudą įmonėje. Teoriniai sprendimai pagrįsti: Abramavičiaus Š., Adomėno V., Jucevičiaus R., Paulauskaitės N., Rutkausko J., Vanago P., Gardin D., Hoyle D., Tsiakals J., West J. bei kitų autorių moksliniais straipsniais ir knygomis, kuriose teoriniais aspektais analizuojamos ISO 9000 serijos standarto kokybės vadybos sistemų diegimo problemos, vadybos sistemų integravimo ypatumai, Aplinkos vadybos sistemų diegimas Lietuvos įmonėse. Atlikta anketinė apklausa, siekiant identifikuoti įmonės veiklos valdymą įdiegus kokybės ir aplinkos apsaugos vadybos sistemas. Patvirtinama autorės suformuluota mokslinio tyrimo hipotezė, kad VKV – į kokybę orientuotas UAB „NCC titanas“ vadovavimo būdas, pagrįstas visų jos narių dalyvavimu, siekiant ilgalaikės sėkmės tenkinant klientą ir naudos visiems savo organizacijos nariams bei visuomenei. Tačiau visgi UAB „NCC titanas“ reiktų didesnį dėmesį skirti paslaugų ir darbuotojų veiklos kokybės gerinimui, VKV žinių tobulinimui, komunikavimo procesui bei vidinių ir išorinių klientų lūkesčių tenkinimui.
This work analyses the practice of constructional enterprise administration after introducing into it the quality and anti-pollution standards, also the problems of ISO 9000 quality of standard management system implemention regard to general quality management. The management system integration peculiarities are analysed as well as the requirements for quality of ISO 9000 series and anti-pollution ISO 14000 series management system standarts, factors that influence them, quality and anti-pollution systems benefit in enterprise. Theoretical decisions are based on: Abramavičius Š., Adomėnas V., Jucevičius R., Paulauskaitė N., Rutkauskas J., Vanagas P., Gardin D., Hoyle D., Tsiakals J., West J. and other authors memoirs and books in which the ISO 9000 series quality standards of management systems implemention problems and pecularities, anti-pollution management system installation in Lithuania companies and so on are analysed by theoretical aspects. The survey was made by seeking to identify the administration of enterprise after implemention of quality and anti-pollution management systems. The hypothesis of author that the style of leadership TQM, which is oriented to JSC „NCC titanas“ and based on participation of all members, trying to reach permanent success to meet the requirements of customer and get a big benefit for all members of organization and society was confirmed. Abstract:
The management of quality is a consideration in all industries. The ISO 9000 standard defines a management system framework which includes the necessary and sufficient elements for the systematic management of quality. Some organizations experience positive results from implementing an ISO 9000 based quality management system while others do not. Given its widespread use and the economic implications of ineffective implementation, this study analyzes the implementation process steps, the performance of system elements after certification and organization performance metrics. The methodology combines publicly available financial data and survey results to characterize the determinants of success for ISO 9000 quality management system implementation.

Resumo: A fim de orientar as pequenas empresas para implantarem sistemas de garantia de qualidade, através da norma NBR ISO série 9000, são apresentadas etapas para a implantação da referida norma, métodos e técnicas organizacionais que visam a melhoria da qualidade dos produtos, serviços e de vida no ambiente de trabalho. Considerando o que disse o Prof Wladimir Martinez da ESAN: "O certificado é apenas a ponta do iceberg", são apresentados nesse trabalho desde o resultado de diagnóstico feito com diversas empresas, que serve como referência para qualquer pequena empresa fazer uma auto análise, até os conceitos de processos de comunicação e da ambiência do trabalho que se seguidos melhorarão o clima organizacional. São apresentadas também algumas técnicas de exame de problemas da organização que auxiliam na descoberta das causas e orientam as soluções. É apresentado um histórico da qualidade através dos tempos, desde o início da interferência do homem no ambiente, modificando-o de acordo com a sua conveniência, a fim de garantir a sobrevivência de maneira mais fácil e confortável possível, assim como o "benchmarcking" usado para estabelecer metas para melhorias nos processos, nas funções, nos produtos, comparando uma empresa a outras. Em anexo, tendo em vista a importância vital para a compreensão desse estudo, estamos colocando: O projeto "Alto Tietê" de qualidade, com enfoque na certificação pela ISO 9000, que tornou possível, a pequenas empresas dos municípios de Mogí das Cruzes, Suzano, Poá, Itaquaquecetuba e região, atingir esse objetivo. Convém ressaltar que se trata de projeto pioneiro (vide Anexo 05 página 71), que de 120 empresas convidadas inicialmente, aproximadamente 90 compareceram ao seminário de apresentação do projeto, 40 se candidataram para formar o primeiro grupo e 15 foram escolhidas naquela ocasião. As empresas que não participam dos grupos, sempre que desejam são atendidas em ações isoladas com programas de treinamento e assessoria na área da qualidade. Hoje nessa região do estado de São Paulo, já está se formando o quarto grupo que, desde o terceiro, conta com 20 pequenas empresas participantes. Contamos hoje com quatro empresas certificadas, dez em fase de certificação e todas as demais com muitas melhorias implantadas e em condições, caso decidam, de partirem para a implantação e certificação pela ISO 9000. Finalmente, graças ao sucesso alcançado, esse projeto é hoje uma referência no SENAI-SP e tem sido repassado para diversas regiões do estado. Uma entrevista com a diretora de uma pequena empresa "Chaffi Indústria Metalúrgica Ltda.", que detalha as dificuldades enfrentadas para obter a certificação que, com certeza, são comuns. Em outras pequenas empresas, servindo como exemplo para todos. Baseado neste exemplo, são apresentados em anexos fotos que são as evidências objetivas das transfonnações ocorridas, e o Manual da Qualidade daquela empresa. Completando os anexos são apresentadas informações e exemplos que servem como referenciais para qualquer pequena empresa que busca a implementação da qualidade tendo ou não a certificação pela ISO 9000 como sua meta. Portanto os anexos constituem uma parte rica em infonnações para orientação de empresários, especialistas, consultores e demais interessados na implantação de um sistema de qualidade, baseado na NBR ISO série 9000 em pequenas empresas.
Abstract: In order to guide sized companies to set up assured quality systems through NBR ISO 9000 rule, steps are presented to the implementation of the mIe itself, as well as methods and organizational techniques aimed to improve the quality of products, services and living standard in the working site. According to professor Wlademir Martinez from ESAN: "The certificate is just the point o/ the iceberg". In this work we present not only the diagnosis results from several enterprises used as reference for any small company to proceed a self analysis, but also the concepts of communication processes and work environrnent which are made to improve the organizational scenary. Some solving problems techniques which may help discovering the origin of the problems and guide the solutions are also presented. A flashback of quality alongthe times is presented. Since the beginning of human interference into the environrnent, changing it to suit men' s convinience in order to assure surviving in an easier and more confortable way, as well as benchmarking companies to settle targets to improve processes, functions, pro.ducts, etc. Due to the vital importance of the fully understanding of this study, we attach the following: . The quality project "Alto Tietê", emphasizing the ISO 9000 certification which made possible for small companies from Mogi das Cruzes, Suzano, Poá, ltaquaquecetuba and neighbourhood to achieve this goal. It' s important to say that this a pioneer project (see appeendix 05, page 71), that out of 120 invited companies, nearly 90 have attended the opening seminar, where 40 companies have candidated to form the first group and 15 were chosen. The companies that do not participate in the working groups can be served with isolated actions such as training programs and consultancy in the quality area. Nowadays, within this area of São Paulo state, a fourth group is being forrned, gathering 20 small companies. For the time being, we have four certified companies, tem to be certified, and many others with a lot of improvement beeoming totally able to pursuit the ISO 9000 certifieation. Finally, thanks to the success achieved, this projeet is a referenee point in SENAI-SP and has been passed over to several regions of the state. . The interview with the direetor of a small eompany, "Chaffi Indústria Metalúrgiea Ltda.", whieh deseribes the problems to get the certifieation and, of course, works as an example for the others. Still, based on this specifie example, we attached some photos whieh are direet evidences of the chages and also the Qualit Manual of the eompany. Furher more, information and examples whieh ean be used as reference points by any small company looking for the implementation of quality, with or without ISO 9000 certificate. Therefore, the appendices are a very rieh part in terms of information to guide businessmen, experts, consultalits and everyone who is interested in the set up of a qualitycsystem based on the NBR ISO 9000 role for small companies.

The purpose with this examination task is to investigate what purchasers and building contractors think of ISO 9000 and the function of it within the building trade.In this material both the purchaser´s and the building contractor´s viewpoints and attitude towards ISO 9000 is being object to an investigation, in order to get a just picture of the function of the quality work within the building trade. The general opinion of ISO 9000 has proven to be positive. During the work with this investigation it appeared that nosystem is that good that it can´t be improved. A widely spread opinion is also that ISO 9000 means a lot of paperwork but also that the certified companies are well organized. Above all the majority demands a standard that is more adjusted to the building trade.
Syftet med detta arbetet har varit att undersöka hur beställare ser på ISO 9000 och hur det fungerar i byggbranschen. I arbetet är både beställares och entreprenörers synpunkter behandlade för att få en rättvis bild av hur kvalitetsarbetet fungerar inom byggbranshen. Den allmäna uppfattningen om ISO 9000 har visat sig vara positiv. Det har under arbetets gång dock visat sig att inget system är så bra att det inte kan förbättras. En utbredd uppfattning är även att ISO 9000 innebär för mycket pappersarbete men även att de företag som är certifierade är välorganiserade. Framförallt efterfrågas det av majoriteten en standard som är mer anpassad till byggbranschen.

This report is the result of a thesis work done at the Department of Engineering Sciences, Uppsala University, and includes 15 ECTS points. The work has been performed at Företag A, a company specializing in electronics whose major product has become a sophisticated tool used by authorities across northern Europe.   Företag A has initiated a quality management system according to the criteria set by ISO 9001. Following demands from customers, Company A has now decided to also start working towards a certification according to SS-EN ISO 9001:2008, this work is the foundation for the thesis work.   The thesis work has been limited to the production process and the aim has been to enable this process to be certified according to ISO 9001:2008. The work has been performed by analyzing the existing quality management system and the requirements for each process included, whereby the gap between the current and the target state has been mapped. Suggestions have then been made on how this gap can be filled, some of these suggestions have also been carried out during the thesis work.   The conclusions drawn are that quality management does not have to be complicated, but quickly becomes so when the complexity of the processes increases. Therefore, the system's overall records should be kept clear in order to create an accessible system, while methods to generate commitment and support from staff and give them the tools to influence the content becomes a vital part.

Mostrou-se por argumentação que a análise sobre conceitos e definições contidos nas Normas da Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas, série NBR ISO 9000, pode contribuir para identificar sugestões para estudos, análise e aceitação de ações para construção e manutenção de pavimentos, e comportamento de pavimentos durante as solicitações pelo tráfego de veículos do ponto de vista dos que usam rodovias. Para isso estudaram-se conceitos sobre qualidade e \"qualidade de pavimentos ou seus serviços\", conceituaram-se organizações, relataram-se e discutiram-se conceitos sobre \"sistema da qualidade\", \"garantia da qualidade\", manuseio de informações para ações sobre a qualidade; \"gestão da qualidade\", especificação e suas relações com clientes; qualidade de processos; qualidade de serviços. Por fim através de uma série de relatos sobre fatos discutiram-se a aplicabilidade de normas a estudos de qualidade de pavimentos, conclusões e sugestões.
Arguments were used to show that definitions and concepts from National Brazilian for Standards Association documents, the NBR ISO 9000, should contribute to identify concepts and suggestions to analyze and accept actions in construction and maintenance of pavements, or their performance using the user\'s point of view. lt was studied concepts on quality, pavement quality, organizations, quality systems, quality warranty, information to quality actions, actions on quality, process quality and service quality. After this it was reported some facts to guide the discussion on standard applications to pavement quality studies.

This research report is based on a case study. It follows up on the research of a previous study by Muregerera (1996). His thesis was compiled in order to develop a model for a world-class manufacturing organization. For his case study, he chose Omnigraphics. Although his focus was on world class manufacturing principles, he did address Omnigraphics prior to the organization receiving ISO 9000 certification through the SASS. This research report therefore looks at the transformation that Omnigraphics went through, from an organization without a formal quality management system, to one with a functional quality management system. Chapter one defines quality management systems and the benefits of a formal quality management system. Current research is discussed in chapter two together with the benefits and requirements of the ISO system. Chapter three addresses the challenges, which Omnigraphics faced prior to ISO 9000 implementation and the changes that occurred once this organization was certified to ISO 9001. A comprehensive survey was done to identify the actual benefits that suppliers and customers see in dealing with an ISO 9000 listed organization. Chapter four looks at the participants of the survey as well as the questions posed. Chapter five gives the results of the survey in a graphical format as well as an interpretation of the results. The research report also focuses on the new revision of the ISO 9000 series and this is addressed in chapter six. The report closes by reviewing the research and looking at the future of the ISO 9000 series.

L'objet de cette thèse est l'étude de la norme iso 9 000 et son application dans le domaine juridique, tant au point de vue de la technique que du droit. Cette étude permet de préciser certains points. En premier lieu cette norme, bien que l'on soit très loin de son domaine d'origine, est applicable à un cabinet d'avocat, à un service et même à un programme d'enseignement juridique. Pour cela une transposition des prescriptions de la norme de la série iso 9000 devra être correctement effectuée pour respecter son esprit plus que sa lettre. C'est la que résidera une des principales difficultés de l'application au domaine juridique (un système d'assurance qualité a été élabore à titre d'illustration). Les avantages seront alors principalement la " sécurisation " des procédures, notamment pour les cabinets et services juridiques désireux de voir diminuer le risque d'engagement de leur responsabilité, ainsi que l'augmentation et surtout le maintient de la qualité de la prestation fournie. De nombreuses questions se posent en ce qui concerne l'aspect juridique de la certification iso 9000 et notamment quant à la nature de l'acte, quant a la responsabilité des organismes certificateurs, et quant aux obligations légales et déontologiques des cabinets d'avocats. Les deux inconvénients principaux d'un tel système sont la lourdeur d'utilisation, ainsi que le coût de création, de certification et de maintient dudit système. Ce coût est bien sûr financier mais apparaît aussi en terme d'énergie et de vitesse de réactivité. Le candidat à la certification iso 9000 devra donc prendre en compte de nombreux critères avant de se décider définitivement.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka och analysera hur ISO 9000 serien utvecklats och spridits med utgångspunkt från Røviks teori gällande framgångsrika recept. Vi har sökt svaren till vilka faktorer som gör att organisationer tar till sig konceptet och implementerar det. Frågor har skapats utifrån ovanstående teori som sedan ställts till Sveriges samtliga tio ackrediterade certifieringsorgan som utför revisioner av standarden. Vi har även ställt frågor till SIS, Swedish Standard Institute som ansvarar för framtagandet av standarder i Sverige. Efter att ha applicerat och analyserat den empiri som vi erhållit genom intervjuer och litteraturstudier har vi funnit att ISO 9000 serien till stora delar stämmer överens med vald teori. De faktorer som vi funnit ligga bakom ISO 9000 seriens omfattande spridning är att standarden kan användas av alla, små som stora organisationer inom olika branscher. Framgångsrika företag blir ofta förebilder för andra vilket bidrar till ökad spridning. Vidare anses standarden vara modern och ”ligger i tiden”. Den uppdateras för att anpassa sig till den föränderliga omvärlden. Standarden framstår som något fördelaktigt för alla i en organisation. Slutligen har vi funnit att standarden bidrar till att varje enskild individ får ansvar och befogenheter för sin del av processen vilket medför större engagemang och motivation i arbetet.

Engineering by its very nature is associated with quality processes. Ineffective processes have the potential to jeopardize the chances of providing consistently, products that meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements. By implication, this senario also calls for organizational transformation. SA Five Engineering (Pty) Ltd (SAF), which will serve as the target organization for this research study has in the past year suffered numerous complaints of poor products as a result of ineffective processes, impacting on production quality. Both 150 9000 and the concept of Total Quality Management have the potential to mitigate ineffective processes within SAF. The key research objective with this research study, is to recommend how to improve ineffective processes and the competitive advantage of SAF through improved products. Furthermore, to analyze the business organization in order to determine the extent to which Total Quality Management principles are deployed with the aim of developing a model, which will serve as a benchmark for sustained improvement. The research problem deals with ineffective processes within SAF which impacts adversely on delivery of quality products and services. The research design and methodology to be conducted within the ambit of this research study is applied research, as applied research is designed to apply its findings to solve a specific existing problem. The research will furthermore fall in the social world as the research relates to a structured business research study pertaining to how things are, and why. Process mapping is a powerful tool for an organization, not just as a situation analysis, but as a tool for future efficiencies and improvements. Process mapping has been done in accordance with walk-trough concept where you go through the tasks that are within the business itself and see what the people involved in the making are doing in there tasks. To compile this to the process maps later on. An Analysis of the process and the mapping of them compered to the requirements of ISO 9001-2008. Is explaining where Skärås svets och mekaniska really are today in the work towards a future certification. Against what the standard requires. What do you need to implement in their business or change for a future certification will be possible?. This is one of the main issues reguarding this thesis. Då konkurrensen blir allt hårdare bland företag, har kvalitet blivit ett allt viktigare konkurrensmedel. För att kunna ge hög kvalitet till sina kunder, måste företaget ha hög kvalitet internt. Allt fler företag inför därför ett kvalitetssystem som hjälpmedel för att styra kvaliteten åt rätt håll. Ett av de vanligaste kvalitetssystemen är ISO 9000. Detta examensarbete behandlar de förändringar som sker efter införandet av ISO 9000 i IT-företag.

I undersökningen har fyra kvalitetsansvariga på fyra olika IT-företag intervjuats om vilka förändringar som har skett i deras företag. Förändringarna har varit ganska likartade mellan de olika företagen. Resultatet visar att de förändringar som sker är att företaget får ett bättre kvalitetsmedvetande, mer fokus på kvalitet till kund, bättre ordning och reda i företaget och fler revisioner.

Para o desenvolvimento do tema, discute-se inicialmente aspectos relacionados com normalização internacional e o surgimento da Série ISO 9000 de normas. Apresenta-se a estruturação dessa série de normas e uma descrição do processo de certificação de sistemas da qualidade, além de resultados de algumas pesquisas realizadas no Brasil e no exterior. Posteriormente, é analisada a interpretação dada por diferentes autores para o tema mudança organizacional, assim como a natureza das transformações possíveis, quais sejam estruturais e políticas, estratégicas, culturais, tecnológicas e humanas. A partir do estudo de caso de três empresas, identifica-se então a natureza das mudanças organizacionais ocorridas em cada uma delas a partir da implementação do sistema de garantia da qualidade ISO 9000. Resumo: Este trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar criticamente a implantação da ISO 9001:2000, demonstrando e avaliando os impactos no setor de processos e um estudo de caso em situação real apontando as vantagens sobre a ISO 9001:1994, assim como os problemas relacionados à organização da empresa, propondo soluções através dos métodos e ferramentas mais adequadas. Uma comparação entre as normas ISO 9001:1994 e ISO 9001:2000 foi feita para demonstrar os impactos da revisão. A Implantação foi realizada na área de Processos Metalúrgicos, mais precisamente em uma empresa que tem como principal processo a Trefilação de Aços Inoxidáveis. Neste trabalho, estão descritos os principais passos da implantação do sistema em todos os níveis da organização, analisando-os criticamente, através de indicadores da qualidade e produtividade, destacando os principais resultados obtidos e as dificuldades encontradas. Nesse processo de implantação a maior dificuldade foi à conscientização da alta diretoria seguida pelos demais setores da empresa, porém, após passar por essa dificuldade, a responsabilidade diante da política da empresa fez com que todos os setores participassem ativamente para o cumprimento e monitoramento das metas estabelecidas pela organização
Abstract: This research has as objective to analyze critically the introduction of ISO 9001:2000, showing and evaluating the impacts in the process department and a case study and real situation pointing the advantages against ISO 9001:1994, as well as the problems related to the company organization, proposing solutions through method and more suitable tools. A comparision between the norm ISO 9001:1994 and ISO 9001:2000 was done to demonstrate the revision impacts. The introduction was accomplished in the Metallurgical Process, more precisally in a company that has as principal process the Stainless Steel Trefilation. At this research are described the principal steps of the system introduction in all levels of the organization, analyzing them critically through quality indicators and productivity, emphasizing the principal results taken and the difficulties found. In this process of introduction the biggest difficulty was to make aware the company management followed by the other departments of the company, however, after finished this difficulty, the responsibility to the company politics made all departments change their mind and participate actively to execute and follow up the mark established by the organization

In Europe, the ISO·9000 series of standards has become the entry barrier for companies doing business with the Economic Union (EU). Given the globalization of international trade, a large percentage of American companies are incurring additional expenses in seeking ISO-9000 quality registration as both a symbol of their commitment to quality and quality products and as a method to enhance productivity. This research examined the research question" To what extent does a company becoming ISO 9000 certified improve their financial performance in the years immediately after certification?" To address this question two research hypotheses and two null hypotheses were developed. The first null hypothesis was "there is no significant difference between ISO 9000 certified companies and non-ISO 9000 certified companies, on a set of financial performance indicators considered simultaneously, over the five year period prior to certification. The first research hypothesis was "There is a significant difference between ISO 9000 certified companies and non-ISO 9000 certified companies, on a set of financial performance indicators considered simultaneously, over the five year period prior to certification. The second null hypothesis was "There is no significant difference between ISO 9000 certified companies and non-ISO 9000 certified companies, on a set of financial performance indicators considered simultaneously, during the three year period after becoming certified." The second research hypothesis was "There is a significant difference between ISO 9000 certified companies and non-ISO 9000 certified companies, on a set of financial performance indicators considered simultaneously, during the three year period after becoming certified." Results from analysis concluded that the first null hypothesis was rejected; there was a significant difference at the multivariate level across the groups in the five-year period immediately preceding ISO -- 9000 certification. More significantly, the second null hypothesis was not rejected. There was not enough evidence to conclude that a significant difference exists in the four-year financial performance indicators between the selected software companies that are ISO 9000 Certified compared with those selected software companies that are not ISO 9000 Certified.

On the other hand, having a special importance to mining, OHSAS 18000 Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System Series aims to provide safer, more tranquil and more healthy working environment to the labors. Both of these management systems are continuously improved and increase their importance in the world. This study evaluates ISO 9000 and OHSAS 18000 series in a comparative and criticizing scope and complementariness of the standards to each other is examined. Existing conditions in our country are determined in mining perspective and some comments are given to improve existing condition. Literatural information is given about both of the series in the study and these information is supported by some case studies. Case studies covers not only, a leading company in Turkey namely MANGAN Marble &
Granite Inc. but also some other companies and establishments. Studies show that there are some problems observed in the implementation of both series. The main problem is commitment of the top management. Other problems are documentation and training of the personnel. These problems are more serious in small scale mining companies and quarries. Um sistema da qualidade conforme a ISO 9000, é uma ferramenta de grande valia, na questão da competitividade, para as empresas que souberem implantá-lo e utilizá-lo da forma correta. Este trabalho se destinou a analisar uma implantação de um sistema da qualidade conforme a ISO 9002 em uma empresa de transportes, com o intuito de verificar quais seriam os fatores que levariam um sistema da qualidade a se tornar algo excessivamente burocrático e inerte para a busca de melhorias. Através da análise desses fatores, foi possível identificar quais seriam os pontos que, se desenvolvidos adequadamente, fariam do sistema da qualidade uma ferramenta focada na obtenção de resultados e sugerir a forma mais adequada para implantá-los. Considerando-se o grande crescimento da ISO 9000 no Brasil, imagina-se que qualquer ação no sentido de melhorar o desempenho desses sistemas da qualidade, estará contribuindo para o aumento da competitividade do país.

Resumo: Os Sistemas Integrados de Gestão (SIG) que contemplam Gestão da Qualidade (NBR/ ISSO 9001), Ambiental (NBR/ISO 14001) e de Segurança e Saúde no Trabalho (OHSAS 18001) são relativamente novos na construção civil brasileira; no entanto, em diversos outros setores o uso dos SIG já é largamente empregado e algumas construtoras brasileiras pioneiras vêm acompanhando esta tendência. Este trabalho tem como objetivo propor recomendações para implementação, em empresas construtoras de edifícios, dos Sistemas Integrados de Gestão. Esta pesquisa adota como estratégia estudos de caso. Foram realizados estudos de caso exploratórios em uma indústria e uma empresa de logística e, depois, dois estudos de caso exploratórios na construção civil brasileira, em construtoras que já tem o SIG, além de entrevistas com auditores e consultores das normas em questão; posteriormente, iniciou-se um estudo de caso mais aprofundado em uma empresa construtora de edifícios, pioneira na implementação de SIG no setor. Foram identificados fatores que facilitam ou dificultam a implementação dos SIG e se realizou uma análise de alguns requisitos das normas, que podem ser implementados de forma integrada. Para finalizar o trabalho, são expostas recomendações para implementação de SIG em construtoras, que traga benefícios como: maior efetividade em atingir os objetivos do SIG, redução de custos, simplificação da documentação, maior envolvimento dos funcionários e atendimento estruturado e sistematizado aos requisitos de qualidade, meio ambiente e segurança, servindo como fator de competitividade das empresas do setor.
Abstract: Integrated Management Systems (IMS) considering Quality Management (NBR/ISO 9001), Environmental Management (NBR/ISO 14001) and Occupational Health & Safety Management (OHSAS 18001), are relatively new in the Brazilian construction. Several other industries widely use the IMS and some pioneering Brazilian builders are following the trend. The objective of this research is to propose recommendations for implementation of Integrated Management System in building construction companies. This work uses case studies as research strategy. Exploratory case studies were done in a manufacturer and a logistics company, then two exploratory case studies in Brazilian construction companies that already have IMS, and interviews with auditors and consultants where carried out. Later, a more detailed case study was conducted in a building construction company, pioneer in the implementation of IMS in the sector. Factors that facilitate or hinder the implementation of IMS were identified, and some requirements of the standards that can be implemented in a integrate manner were reviewed. To finish the research, recommendations are set for implementation of IMS in construction, which brings benefits as: effectiveness in achieving the goal of the IMS, cost reduction, simplification of documentation, involvement of workers, and systematic approach to quality, environment, security, and health requirements, serving as a factor of competitiveness on the sector.

Aquest treball es centra en un àmbit concret de l'educació superior, el de les biblioteques. La recerca ha portat a valorar l'aplicació de la norma ISO 9001:2000 a les biblioteques universitàries però també a les biblioteques d'altres centres d'educació postsecundària i, amb aquesta finalitat, desenvolupa una metodologia per a determinar l'extensió i l'impacte de les ISO 9000 en les biblioteques d'aquestes institucions.

Es presenta l'estat de l'art de l'aplicació de les normes ISO 9000 a les biblioteques, amb especial incidència en les biblioteques d'institucions d'educació superior.

En la recerca es vol determinar quins trets característics presenten les biblioteques d'institucions d'educació superior organitzades emprant la normativa ISO 9001:2000 que han assolit la seva certificació. També s'estudien els factors que incideixen en la implementació dels seus sistemes de gestió de la qualitat.

El treball presenta l'evolució de la implantació de les normes ISO 9000 a les biblioteques d'institucions d'educació superior (cronologia, tipologia d'implantació i distribució geogràfica de les biblioteques certificades) i, a partir d'una enquesta a directors de biblioteques amb el sistema de gestió de la qualitat certificat, exposa els motius per a implantar les normes ISO 9000 a les biblioteques, les dificultats que presenten en la seva implementació i els avantatges que reporta la seva aplicació. Per finalitzar, es presenta una visió prospectiva sobre el futur de les ISO 9000 a les biblioteques de les institucions d'educació superior.
The ISO 9000 standards are one of the management instruments that have been adopted by libraries over the last few years. This work focuses on ISO quality systems of libraries of Higher Education Institutions. The research presents a state of the art of the application of ISO 9000 standards in libraries and a methodology has been developed to know the extension and the impact of the ISO 9000 standards in the libraries of these institutions.

The work presents the evolution of the implementation of ISO 9000 standards in the libraries of Higher Education Institutions (chronology, typology of implementation and geographical distribution of the certified libraries). A research was carried out in order to find out how many academic libraries have an ISO 9001:2000 certified quality management system and a questionnaire was sent to the directors of the libraries that were identified.

The research looks for the identification of which features show ISO 9001 certified libraries, and the reason to implement an ISO 9001:2000 compliant quality management system. Abstract:
A research project submitted to the Faculty of Engineering, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Engineering. Johannesburg, 1995.
This project compares the ISO 9000 series with the Deming-based total quality management philosophy. The series are also equated with the Deming prize and the Malcolm Baldrlge National Quality Award as a trilogy in achieving total quality management. Many companies which have implemented total quality management are requiring their suppliers to meet quality standards to assure a consistent product or service. The SABS ISO 9000 series is presently a prevalent method of assessment of suppliers. Concerns that ISO registration would be the only way LV ensure sales to the European Community have partially diminished, while pressure from domestic firms have increased. especially for companies facing competitive bidding from supplier contracts This driving force may result in companies not reaping the advantages of total quality management, as their quality systems are simply designed to meet ISO 9000 requirements, Analysis, primary and secondary research identified weaknesses and strengths of the ISO standards and Awards. Suggestions are made to those companies in the process ofISO registration in moving to a total quality environment.
