For the first time, a detailed record of the δ13Сorg value has been obtained in Permian mudstones of the Taskan Basin (Omulevka block, Northeast Asia), covering the interval from the Upper Kungurian, Roadian, Wordian, Capitanian, and Lower Wuchiapingian stages. Twelve brachiopod species are described from the Cisuralian (Early Permian) Kungurian horizon of a large limestone block in the Middle Jurassic accretionary complex at Hatahoko in the Mino Belt, central Japan. Most species of the Hatahoko fauna are known from the Kungurian to lowest Guadalupian (Middle Permian) of West Texas, U.S.A. The Kungurian age is also indicated by the associated conodonts in the same limestone block. This article discusses the Late Kungurian radioisotopic age (276.9 ± 0.4 Ma) of the middle part of the Starokuznetsk Formation (Kuznetsk Subgroup, Kolchugino Group) of the Kuznetsk Basin determined by chemical abrasion–isotope dilution–thermal ionization mass spectrometry (CA-ID-TIMS). A thick succession of upper Paleozoic carbonate rocks and minor chert crops out north of the head of Otto Fiord (northwest [NW] Ellesmere Island, Nunavut) in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. These rocks accumulated in a tectonic subbasin—the Otto Fiord Depression (OFD)—of the Sverdrup Basin that likely originated through rifting during late Early Carboniferous (Serpukhovian). The article presents the geochemical characteristics of the Upper Devonian- Tournaisian carbonate complex of the Bym-Kungur monocline. On the basis of weighted average values of geochemical parameters, maps of the distribution of organic carbon, chloroform bitumoid, and bitumoid coefficient in the Upper Devonian- Tournaisian sediments were constructed. As a result of the conducted research, it was found that the Upper Devonian-Tournaisian carbonate complex has a high oil and gas potential.

The territory of the Chusovsky Cape belongs to the area of mainly gypsum and carbonate-gypsum karst. The Kama reservoir has a great influence on the hydro-dynamic and hydrochemical situation. Karst processes are becoming more active. The thickness of the transitional hydrodynamic zone increases, which is manifested in an increase in the frequency of karst sinkholes. The high dissolving capacity of surface waters and groundwaters of the solikamsk and iren aquifers of the kungurian stage of the lower permian contributed to the development of a karst sinkhole in the village of Gorodishche (1991).
