The consulted bibliography does not present, in any of the analyzed cases, a calculation of the limit of a function, but only "shows" that the values presented as the "limit" satisfy the definition of limit of a function expressed through inequalities involving and , there is, therefore, a gap in this theme, which the present article comes to fill by fundamentally using the concept of defined function, as well as by identifying the expression " tends to a certain number" with a corresponding equality.

The concept of limits in calculus was first discovered by Sir Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz in the late 17th century. Both developed calculus with different but complementary approaches and notations. The Stieltjes limit is a generalization of the conventional limit, where the limiter is a function. This study defines the limit and Stieltjes limit on function-valued operators, which are bounded operators whose limiters are continuous functions. To support this definition, we first introduce the concepts of neighborhoods, continuous function operators, increasing operators, strictl

This paper discusses the fifth coefficient approximation of the inverse strongly convex function. Strongly convex function is a subclass of convex function. Those functions are included as univalent functions. Using corresponding lemmas, we give sharp limits for the fifth coefficient of the inverse strongly convex function. The limit is sharp if the value of the approximation has the same value as the limit. We verify that the limit of the fifth coefficient of the inverse strongly convex function differs from that of the strongly convex function in some interval but still have the same value i

In the context of fractal geometry, the natural extension of volume in Euclidean space is given by Hausdorff and packing measures. These measures arise naturally in the context of iterated function systems (IFS). Moreover, the map which takes the IFS to its dimension is continuous. Developing on previous work, we show that the map which takes a finite conformal IFS to the numerical value of its packing m

Abstract:
Oxygen uptake, CO2 production and respiratory quotient (RQ) of strawberry, raspberry and cherry were measured as functions of temperature and oxygen level. The effect of cultivar was studied in strawberry ('Honey' and 'Allstar'). The effect of harvest date was studied for raspberry. The lower O2 limit increased markedly with incraqsing temperature for all fruits studied. Red bell pepper O2 uptake was measured as a function of O2 at 20o C. Lowering the inpackage humidity using NaCl reduced decay of bell pepper sealed in low-density polyethylene packages when stored at 8o C. Analyses of a model

Abstract:
The goal of this project is to develop a methodology to find the optimal inspection timing of pipelines carrying hazardous materials. The four principle parameters affecting the need for inspection are: - Anomaly severity - Deterioration rate Limit state - Consequences of failure In addition to these parameters, considered in this research, uncertainty needs to be understood and accounted for. Knowledge of each of the above parameters is limited by various factors. Morrison has chosen to approach this uncertainty with a probabilistic method that leads to a risk and reliability solution. Abstract:
This project responds to a need to obtain statistically adequate quantities of input data for probabilistic assessments of girth welded pipelines. It is desirable to limit the data collection efforts to that warranted by overall reliability and confidence requirements. This is motivated by the challenge of limited and/or high-cost access to in-service pipelines for property measurement and flaw inspection. The goal of this project was to develop a methodology for specifying the minimum, cost-optimized sampling frequency for each of the model input parameters in a multiple girth weld fitness-fo

Countries that are classified as having floating exchange rate systems (or very wide bands) show strikingly different patterns of behavior. They hold very different levels of international reserves and allow very different volatilities in the movements of the exchange rate relative to the volatility that they tolerate either on the level of reserves or in interest rates. We document these differences and present a model that explains them as the optimal response of a Central Bank that attempts to minimize a standard loss function, in an environment in which firms are credit-constrained and inc

Abstract:
The overall objective was to develop two models for determining the effect of mechanical damage on the structural integrity of buried pipelines. The models that are to be developed are the instantaneous failure model (MD4-3) and the delayed failure model (MD4-4). The subject of this report is part of the work that has been undertaken in support of the development of the instantaneous failure model which is being undertaken within the remit of MD4-3. The overall objective of MD4-3 to produce a closed form expression that will be used as: (i) A Limit State Function in structural reliability and

Abstract:
We aim to evaluate the public debt sustainability of Pakistan using the debt sustainability analysis (DSA) framework and fiscal reaction function (FRF). For the empirical analysis, we use relevant important macroeconomic variables, such as public debt, external debt, primary balance, output growth, current account balance, and oil prices, over the period 1976–2021. The results of the DSA suggest that, at the 10% growth rate with a real interest rate lower than 10%, the public debt level can be brought under the 60% standard sustainable limit from the current 80% by the year 2030. Abstract:
We estimate the fiscal space of Brazilian States defined as the difference between a State's actual debt and the theoretical debt limit implied by the historical behavior of its policymakers. We estimate fiscal reaction functions and debt limits using publicly available data between 2000 and 2011 for the 26 Brazilian States and the Federal District. The results suggest that, after a decade of fiscal consolidation, a number of States have fiscal space but there remains significant heterogeneity across States. Abstract:
This report describes the development of a graphical framework enabling probabilistic assessment of surface-breaking planar defects in pipeline girth welds, in terms of multivariate limit state functions incorporating weld strength mismatch effects. This is part of an ongoing effort by the Welding Research Supervisory Committee to align girth weld fitness-for-service assessment methods with recent advancements in limit states- and reliability-based design for pipelines. A previous three-year program (PR-185-9429) by the same investigators produced a database of partial safety factors (PSFs), c
