There are currently two types of intra-arterial drug-delivery system (DDS) in clinical use in the palliative treatment of primary liver cancer. The chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX) can be formulated into a drug-in-lipiodol emulsion (LIPDOX) or a microparticulate drug-eluting bead system (DEBDOX). The widespread use of artificial insemination in the pig industry has provided breeders access to genetic material from superior boars from around the world. Selection of parent stock is based on estimated breeding values (EBVs) which are regularly computed in all countries performing genetic evaluations. Application of EBV s, are restricted to the country of estimation for animals part of the genetic evaluation. In dairy cattle, conversion equations, and more recently Multiple Across Country Estimation (MACE), have successfully been applied for comparison of breeding values across countries.

The main archaeological features studied in this thesis are semi-subterranean house remains in the woodlands of middle northern Sweden, east of the high mountains and some 100 km from the coast. The period during which they were occupied has been delimited to 4500-2500 BC. Progesterone is an important driver of endometrial function and as such plays an important role in early embryo development, implantation and survival. High feeding levels during early pregnancy in gilts usually result in a decrease in the concentration of progesterone in systemic blood circulation, through an increase in hepatic metabolism, and have as a consequence been associated with a reduction in embryo survival.
