Charge conservation in the theory of elementary particle physics is one of the best-established principles ‎in physics. As such, if ‎there are magnetic monopoles in the universe, the magnetic charge will most likely be a ‎conserved quantity like electric ‎charges. If neutrinos are magnetic monopoles, as physicists have reported ‎the possibility, the Earth should show signs of ‎having a magnetic monopole charge on a macroscopic scale ‎since neutrons must also have a magnetic monopole charge if ‎the general charge conservation principle is valid. ‎To test this hypothesis, experiments were perfor

Near the Planck scale, the Planck charges, Planck currents, or Planck parameters can be defined and assigned to physical quantities such as the single particle electric charge and magnetic charge as the ceiling value obeyed by the low energy ordinary physics. The kinetic trajectory simulation method has been used to study ion velocity profile in a plasma sheath for varying magnetic field at fixed obliqueness. As the electrons have higher velocity compared to that of ions the wall is charged up negatively with respect to the core plasma. The negative potential then attracts the ions and repels electrons forming a thin positive space charge region in front of the wall. This positive space charge region, known as the ‘sheath’ separates the negatively charged wall from the quasineutral ‘presheath’ plasma. The ions moving towards the wall have to satisf

The Verwey structure is confirmed to have Cc symmetry with 56 unique sites in the asymmetric unit. AbstractMagnets are at the core of both circular and linear accelerators. The main function of a magnet is to guide the charged particle beam by virtue of the Lorentz force, given by the following expression:where q is the electrical charge of the particle, v its velocity, and B the magnetic field induction. The trajectory of a particle in the field depends hence on the particle velocity and on the space distribution of the field. The simplest case is that of a uniform magnetic field with a single component and velocity v normal to it, in which case the particle trajectory is a circle. A unifo

Magnetometers are sensors that measure the magnitude and direction of a magnetic field. There are many types of magnetometers available, but they all rely on electromagnetic principles to measure fields. The most common types are Hall effect, anisotropic magneto-resistive (AMR) and fluxgate sensors. The goal of this study is to investigate several magnetometers to evaluate their capability to detect small changes in an ambient field. These small changes are on the order of 10 milligauss (1 T) and are caused by the inverse-magnetostrictive effect, or Villari effect, from ferromagnetic pipes. T
