Abstract:
In VLSI circuits, signal delays play an important role in design, timing verification and signal integrity checks. These delays are attributed to the presence of parasitic resistance, capacitance and inductance. With increasing clock speed and reducing feature sizes, these delays will be dominated by parasitic inductance. In the next generation VLSI circuits, with more than millions of components and interconnect segments, fast and accurate inductance estimation becomes a crucial step. A generalized approach for inductance extraction requires the solution of a large, dense, complex linear syst

This dissertation is to focus on the development of modeling and simulation methodology to predict conductive electromagnetic interference (EMI) for high power converters. Conventionally, the EMI prediction relies on the Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) method with the time-domain simulation result that requires long hours of simulation and a large amount of data. The proposed approach is to use the frequency-domain analysis technique that computes the EMI spectrum directly by decomposing noise sources and their propagation paths. Modern cars have a multitude of driver assistance functions that aim to support the driver in his/her everyday driving. One part of this is the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) that aims to keep a driver-specified speed. However, this set speed might be perceived as too high for some curves and as a result the driver will interrupt the system and take control again. To avoid this, a Curve Speed Adaptation (CSA) system aims to adapt the speed for an upcoming curve. Such a system should aim to mimic a driver and take into consideration how the driver would behave if he/she were to drive. This work
