<em>Man feared the power of nature and was created to worship nature as God. Worship of deities expanded as village deities, tribal deities, and other deities. Similarly, the rituals of Hajj are linked to the sighting of the crescent moon of Dhul-Hijjah, and other acts of worship begin and end based on the sighting of the crescent moon. Analysis of the mythological depictions has led me to conclude that artists have tended to employ two distinct styles of illustration to represent these deities. To this end it has used visual art to help people understand its message and increase people’s openness to the Bible’s redemptive story. After the Reformation, the emergent Protestant church had a more tenuous relationship with visual art, giving priority to oral forms of communication. This study investigates the teachings of Saint Porphyrios the Kafsokalivite on how the appreciation of beauty in creation can lead believers closer to God. Despite his lack of formal theological training, Saint Porphyrios offered profound experiential insights into divine beauty manifest in nature, art, and music. He passionately argued that the beauty surrounding us is a reflection of divine grace, urging believers to perceive these manifestations as direct links to the Creator. Saint Porphyrios highlighted the spiritual dimensions of beauty, fostering gratitude and reverence for Gods gifts.
