The aim of this study was to examine what roles media gave women and men during the civil war in Syria. It focuses on what the Swedish news television (TV4) chose to show to the public. With the use of a qualitative analysis and tools like Fairclough CDA (critical discourse analysis) and feminism theories, this study discovered that TV4 gives stereotypical roles to the genders.
