Abstract:
Ayres' seminal paper in 1972 reported that Sensory Integration (SI) Treatment was a promising method for improving the academic scores of children with learning disabilities. Ottenbacher's (1982a) review of research reported during that first decade indicated that SI treatment was worthy of further investigation. In this report, we reviewed randomized, controlled trials conducted primarily in the second decade, and conclude that the status of the literature 20 years after Ayres' original article does not support SI treatment as an effective treatment for the academic problems of learning disab

The Maze game media helps develop children's fine motor abilities, such as flexing fingers and wrists, and fine motor skills linked with the movement skills of both hands, as well as their capacity to combine eye senses and hand activity. This study aims to determine the increase in fine motor skills of children with cerebral palsy through a contextual learning model based on maze game media at 3 to 8 years old at SDLB Type D Disabled Children Foundation, South Jakarta. This research method uses action research. Action research is cycle-oriented research on various actions or interventions car

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to describe fine motor skills in mentally retarded children. This study involved 20 mentally retarded children in special schools (SLB) in North Lombok. Identification was carried out using several data collection techniques, namely through observation, filling out instruments and interviewing the teacher. Identification of mentally disabled children focuses on several fine motor skills, namely: making curved lines, making horizontal lines, making circle patterns, cutting straight line pattern paper, cutting zigzag pattern paper, cutting circle pattern p

For a sample of 73 learning-disabled children, the relationship between scores on the Developmental Test of Visual-motor Integration—3rd Revision and teachers' ratings of writing skills was investigated. After statistically removing the contribution of socioeconomic status, achievement, and intelligence, only handwriting was significantly related to scores on Beery's test. Given the limited diagnostic information provided by the test, psychologists are urged to select other measures in assessing students' writing skills.

The classification battery included measures of visual perception, sequential processing, perceptual/motor ability, linguistic comprehension, language production, and semantics. Two subtypes (33%) presented normal profiles and a third (18%) was normal appearing but contained some children with marginal performance. Three distinctive patterns of learning disabilities were found, representing a specific language disability (27

The article discusses the idea that children with movement disorders have great potential for motor and mental development. The experiment consists of two stages. In the first stage of the experiment, the characteristics of disability in children and adolescents (between age 12 and 16) with Infantile Cerebral Palsy are determined. During this stage, two diagnostic methods, bodily “Me” and “The Color-A-Person Body Dissatisfaction Test,” are used.In the second phase of the research program, social pedagogical aids for people with disabilities have been developed.
