Le contact bilatéral de l'accouplement est représenté par une raideur de contact en torsion et un amortissement visqueux. L'équation différentielle linéaire par morceaux obtenue est résolue de manière semi-analytique. Une technique de continuation, basée sur une méthode de tir semi-analytique. Est utilisée pour décrire les orbites périodiques et leurs bifurcations. Le comportement chaotique est mis en évidence par le calcul des exposants de Lyapunov et par les coupures de Poincaré.
