In a preprint by J. Wood, V. Lomadze, and E. Rogers, chains and boundary maps were defined for 2-D discrete behavioral systems. The corresponding homology groups were studied and tied to trajectory properties. Indeed, the homology groups encapsulated the concepts of autonomy, controllability, and signal restriction. We shall present an extension of their work to n-D discrete behavioral systems. In particular, we shall streamline the construction of the chain groups, the boundary maps between chains, and the study of the resultant homology groups. In this PhD thesis we explore the concept of a multidimensional asymptotic class. This is a new notion in model theory, arising as a generalisation of the Elwes–Macpherson–Steinhorn notion of an N-dimensional asymptotic class [22] and thus ultimately as a development of the Lang–Weil estimates of the number of points of a variety in a finite field [47]. We provide the history and motivation behind the topic before developing its basic theory, paying particular attention to multidimensional exact classes, a special kind of multidimensional asymptotic class where the measuring functions provide

An MDS (MultiDimenaional Scaling) model of personality assessment is presented as an alternative method of personality assessment designed to incorporate recently discovered cognitive principles relating to how people mentally organize categories (Roach, 1978), including personality trait categories (Broughton, 1984). The MDS model is shown to generalize from a tool for evaluating the self concept and the semantics of interpersonal categories (Partridge, 1984) to one that taps the full gamut of personality assessment in the interpersonal domain as defined by Wiggins (1979). This thesis consists of three self-contained parts, each with its own abstract, body, references and page numbering. Part I, 'Potential theory, path integrals and the Laplacian of the indicator', finds the transition density of absorbed or reflected Brownian motion in a d-dimensional domain as a Feynman-Kac functional involving the Laplacian of the indicator, thereby relating the hitherto unrelated fields of classical potential theory and path integrals. Part II, 'The problem of alternatives', considers parallel investment in alternative technologies or drugs developed over time, where there c
