Abstract:
Mechanical behavior of a set of ordinary concrete filled steel tubular short column (note as NCSSC) and ceramsite concrete filled steel tubular short column (note as CCSSC) subjected to fire load are experimentally investigated. Effect of the parameters, such as the maximum value of fire temperatures, fire duration on the strength and ductility of the two types of specimens were especially discussed. The test results show that both of the specimens of NCSSC and CCSSC have higher post-fire bearing capacity and better ductility, there was no descent segment in post-fire load-displacement curves

Abstract:
This paper is concerned with the state-feedback controller design for stochastic networked control systems (NCSs) with random actuator failures and transmission delays. Firstly, an event-triggered scheme is introduced to optimize the performance of the stochastic NCSs. Secondly, stochastic NCSs under event-triggered scheme are modeled as stochastic time-delay systems. Thirdly, some less conservative delay-dependent stability criteria in terms of linear matrix inequalities for the codesign of both the controller gain and the trigger parameters are obtained by using delay-decomposition technique

The incidence of musculoskeletal injuries among musicians is well documented. The purpose of this study was to describe the neural status of the median and ulnar nerves in young adult violinists. Twenty volunteer violinists were recruited from the Belmont University and the Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music Orchestras (age 18-30 years). The subjects completed a history form and underwent a physical examination. The electrophysiologic status of the median and ulnar nerves in both upper extremities was then evaluated using sensory and motor nerve conduction studies (NCSs). Upon complet

This paper proposes a switched approach to robust stabilization of a collection of coupled networked controlled systems (NCSs) with node devices acting over a limited communication channel. We suppose that the state information of every subsystem is split into different packets and only one packet of the subsystem can be transmitted at a time. Multiple NCSs with norm-bounded parameter uncertainties and multiple transmissions are modeled as a periodic switched system in this paper. State feedback controllers can be constructed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is given

Networked control systems (NCSs) are commonly modelled by the switched systems involving exponential non-linearities. A challenging problem is to obtain a tight linear approximation of the mentioned non-linear models to derive analysis and design criteria in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be easily handled using the well-established algorithms. The present paper introduces a novel procedure to achieve an improved polytopic over-approximation of the non-linearities emerged in the modelling of NCSs. Moreover, stability of the NCSs is analysed to verify the merits of the pr

In networked control systems (NCSs), the presence of communication networks in control loops causes many imperfections such as random delays, packet losses, multipacket transmission, and packet disordering. In fact, random delays are usually the most important problems and challenges in NCSs because, to some extent, other problems are often caused by random delays. In order to compensate for random delays which may lead to performance degradation and instability of NCSs, it is necessary to establish the mathematical model of random delays before compensation.
