Abstract:
We propose a general approach to nets and structures in which vertices represent stereochemically significant groups or clusters of atoms, and edges represent the linkage between these groups. Vertices may be single atoms, dimers, coordination polyhedra, clusters of atoms or clusters of coordination polyhedra; edges may be single chemical bonds or sets of several chemical bonds. Thus, a single net may be the basis for a family of structures that are homeomorphic to that net. The coordination of polyhedra or units around a vertex is visualized by connecting the centres of the atoms or groups at

Abstract:
We present the design of S-NET, a coordination language and component technology based on stream processing. S-NET achieves a near-complete separation between application code, written in a conventional programming language, and coordination code, written in S-NET itself. S-NET boxes integrate existing sequential code as stream-processing components into streaming networks, whose construction is based on algebraic formulae built out of four network combinators. Subtyping on the level of boxes and networks and a tailor-made inheritance mechanism achieve flexible software reuse.

The crystal structure consists of a stacking sequence along [001] of square-net layers of O atoms and square-net layers of Cl atoms with Pb+ and I+ cations located in the voids of the packing. As is typical of cations with a stereoactive lone-pair of electrons, Pb2+ and I5+ adopt strongly-asymmetrical configurations. Pb2+ cations

A model of the human arm was developed to study coordination of multi-joint movement in the vertical plane. The arm was represented as a two-segment, two-degree of freedom dynamic system with net muscle torques acting at the shoulder and elbow. Kinematic data were collected from a subject who performed unrestrained vertical movements with only the initial and final hand elevations prescribed. Movements were performed with and without a hand-held load. The method of computed torques was implemented to obtain net muscle torques, which enables position and velocity feedback to be used to estimate

This thesis examines four parts of production and inventory models for buyer-supplier in the supply chain under deterministic conditions. The main objective is to find optimal lot-sizing decisions and inventory policies which derive from the classical inventory and Net Present Value (NPV) framework. Firstly, we study the production and inventory models from the classical framework to identify how to value the holding cost for buyer and supplier in the average profit or cost functions. Secondly, we propose the inventory model derived from the NPV framework to identify the incorrect model from t

Abstract:
This report explores pathways to achieve carbon-neutral industrial production in three major Andean economies: Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It examines options for achieving net-zero emissions in plastics, textiles, auto manufacturing, and fisheries four sectors that are likely to play key roles in the economies of the region in the future. The report analyzes the barriers and opportunities to achieve carbon-neutral manufacturing in these countries and sectors in light of existing industrial, energy, and environmental policies, and given the progress that has been achieved so far. Abstract:
We propose a simple model to study the conditions under which consumers prefer to purchase a good in coalition rather than individually. To identify those conditions, we study the full parameter space that defines the characteristics and preferences of heterogeneous consumers, the characteristics of the good, and the characteristics of a public service that offers the same services as the good. We find that shared ownership emerges only under niche conditions, for relatively lower income consumers with relatively higher demand. Furthermore, shared ownership is more likely to emerge if the shar

This paper argues that governments should commit to enhanced international dialogue, coordination and action on trade and climate intersections through: 1. Ministerial attention to trade, climate and environmental sustainability on the official agenda of the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC12) in late 2021 as well as through a complementary Ministerial Statement, co-sponsored by a majority of WTO Members, that recognises the need for the multilateral trading system to enable and support climate mitigation and adaptation efforts and the importance of multilateral cooperation on the interface

Abstract:
Despite the widely acknowledged links between health hazards and foreign policy and security threats, health concerns were largely ignored in EU external action until the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Since COVID-19, a new Global Health Strategy has been developed and health concerns are more deeply integrated into the EU’s foreign policy. But it should not take a crisis to integrate policies with external effects. This brief presents recommendations to boost the coherence and effectiveness of the EU’s external action by creatively coordinating tools, instruments and resources across multiple policy

Abstract:
Humanitarian coordination as an area of scholarly research has grown exponentially over the past decade and can be considered “a well-established and mature topic” now (Jahre and Jensen, 2021, 586).The global humanitarian coordination architecture seems to have more backing in terms of resources and support as well as knowledge and experience, than ever before. Despite this, on the ground, the humanitarian relief system continues to face challenges in the increasingly difficult operating environments whether it is protracted conflicts or other emergency situations causing mass displacement of
