Abstract:
The detachment loss dynamics between rubidium atoms (Rb) and oxygen anions (O−) are studied in a hybrid atom–ion trap. The amount of excited rubidium present in the atomic ensemble is actively controlled, providing a tool to tune the electronic quantum state of the system and, thus, the anion–neutral interaction dynamics. For a ground state Rb interacting with O−, the detachment induced loss rate is consistent with zero, while the excited state Rb yields a significantly higher loss rate. The results are interpreted via ab initio potential energy curves and compared to the previously studied Rb

Abstract:
In this article we present a conceptual overview of relevant interpretations of what state neutrality may imply; we suggest a distinction between inclusive neutrality and exclusive neutrality. This distinction provides a useful framework for understanding the several positions as presented by the parties in the Lautsi case. We conclude by suggesting a solution of the Lautsi case that might provide a more viable solution.

This paper studies the transport of neutral etch species in cylindrical holes, which are of interest for advanced memory devices. The etching of these devices utilizes ions and neutral reactive species, which must travel to the etch front deep inside the feature. For gas pressures in the millitorr and feature sizes in the nanometer range, neutrals reach the bottom of an etching feature via the Knudsen transport1,2. For an aspect ratio of depth to diameter of 100:1, the flux at the bottom of the feature is only 1.3% of the incoming flux. This is a challenge for etching of advanced memory device

On the contrary, to have a green color, there should exist at least two simultaneous absorption bands in the red and blue regions of the visible spectrum where these bands should be controlled with the same applied

This dissertation presents the results of several investigations into vibrational and rotational relaxation of neutral molecules at low temperatures. The use of the free jet flow reactor technique for production of very low local temperatures and the determination of relaxation data and derivation of rate coefficients are discussed. Four different molecules, HBr, CO, OH and OD, are examined in the free jet with various buffer gases to determine their vibrational and rotational relaxation properties. We focus on the two-dimensional Falicov-Kimball model in the neutral case with U >> 0. We determine the ground state ion configurations for all rational densities in (1/3, 2/5), as well as densities 1/6 and 2/11. We also determine the ground states for a sequence of densities starting at 1/5 and converging to 0. On the interval (1/3, 2/5) we show that the ground states are periodic, having the same structure as the one-dimensional ground states. For densities between 1/6 and 2/11 we show that the ground states exhibit a phase separation.

This dissertation presents results on the study of the temperature and internal state dependence of ion-neutral reactions. The free jet flow technique is used to measure rate coefficients for several reactions at ultralow collision energies near 1 K. The technique, and the unique considerations of free jet flow are considered. The method of analysis of the data obtained from the free jet reactor is also presented. The measurement of reaction rate coefficients for several fast reactions is reported. These studies demonstrate the utility of the technique as various types of reactions which occur

Thus, the era of legal takings began.
