AbstractGas Field Planning Tool (GFPT) was developed in 1990 by the Shell Group of Companies to fill the need for a tool for gas field planning and development using deterministic subsurface and surface models. Main initiators were Shell Canada, NAM (the Netherlands), Shell Expro (UK) and BSP (Shell Brunei), as these companies are major gas producers.Shell Companies now have several years experience with using the GFPT. Application ranges from simple single field models to corporate-level models with a large number of gas reservoirs and wells. Shell companies now using GFPT models are Shell Ex

In the more familiar exercise types—tabletop exercises, functional or field exercises, and full-scale exercises—players come together for a period of time to execute the exercise. Abstract:
The UK Government’s climate change strategy has set ambitious targets to decarbonise transport. To support this the government has funded several programmes to develop new vehicle technologies and fuel/energy supply chains. To understand the performance of these new technologies there is a need for standardised tools that capture vehicle data and provide assessments of energy use that can be applied to compare energy consumption objectively. Such tools should also be capable of monitoring fleets of vehicles, to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning regarding the deploym

Abstract:
In this paper, we address a specific tool—InnoMix—that is implemented to overcome the lack of university–industry interaction in a selected region facing structural change with its corresponding impact on the economy and society. InnoMix is facilitated and implemented by university-based transfer scouts who act as mediators and translators between the players of the regional innovation system. These transfer scouts are part of the Innovation Hub 13, in which the region’s partners and stakeholders, infrastructures and competencies are systematically networked with each other to set new impulses

A variable and changing climate where uncertainties exist regarding its future extremes requires better quantity, quality and accessible information that support planning and decision-making processes, as well as infrastructure that can take changing conditions into account. New advances in science and technology have provided higher reliability in climate information, more resilient infrastructure and better insights into managing climate risks and opportunities. New practices and tailored climate information and adapted infrastructure-Climate Services-would be able to accelerate and strength

CONTEXT: Social Licence to Operate (SLO) encompasses the broad socio-political understanding on the part of multiple stakeholders that a mining operation’s social and environmental impacts and measures are legitimate and acceptable. The multiple and variously interacting stakeholder groups— local communities, environmental actors, Indigenous communities, regulators, local governments, industry peak bodies, financiers, affiliated businesses—have the proven capacity to confer and/or disrupt a mining operation’s SLO. The presence or absence of a SLO can have significant consequences not only for

Abstract:
In the pages that follow, a series of tables and figures display visitor use statistics for calendar year 2024. By documenting visits, hours, and overnight stays across the National Park System, the National Park Service (NPS) Statistical Abstract offers a historical record of visitor use in parks and provides NPS staff and partners with a useful tool for effective management and planning. In 2024, 404 of 433 National Park System units collected and reported visitor use statistics; the remainder are unable to do so for a variety of reasons such as administration by another agency, non-federal
