Abstract:
Prema tekstološkoj usporedbi brevijarske legende prevode latinsku Nikolinu hagiografiju Vita auctore Iohanne diacono Neapolitano (BHL 6105) i pripadaju korpusu zapadnoeuropskih srednjovjekovnih Nikolinih hagiografija.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Srpska akademija nauka i umetnosti posvetila je 2022. godinu akademiku Nikoli Dobroviću (Pečuj, 12. 2. 1897 - Beograd, 11. 1. 1967) i obeležavanju jubileja povodom 125 godina od rođenja ovog istaknutog jugoslovenskog i srpskog arhitekte modernog doba. Izložba "Nikola Dobrović - pod zastavama modernih pokreta" autora prof. dr Marte Vukotić Lazar i mr Bojana Kovačevića (otvorena u Galeriji Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti, 24. maja 2022. godine, a trajaće do 2. oktobra 2022) zauzima centralno mesto u Programu obeležavanja jubileja.

Abstract:
The paper analyzes some of Tesla's works and his most remarkable views concerning the problem of formulating theoretical bases of automatic control. As a tribute to Tesla's work on remote control of automated systems, as well to his (at the time) far-seeing visions, special attention is paid to solving complex problem of control and feedback application. A more detailed discussion of the way and origin of formulating theoretical bases of automatic control are given. Besides, in more detail are presented the related pioneering works of Professor Nicholas Bernstein, great Russian physiologist who formulated the basic rules of the self-regulating movements of the man. Bernstein has achievements of highest scientific significance that has been in a direct function of identifying and proving the priority of his pioneering contributions in the domain of feedback, i.e. control and principles of cybernetics.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Nikole. Sv. Nikola postaje u suvremenoj memoriji Grada kult sveca zaštitnika branitelja Domovinskog rata. Ovdje se radi o posve jedinstvenom fenomenu u razvoju kulta sv. Nikole u svjetskim razmjerima, koji postaje antiratni svetac i svetac obranitelj. Cilj je ovoga rada, na interdisciplinaran način, kombinirajući povijesnu i sociološku perspektivu, steći prvi znanstveni uvid u međusobni odnos koncepata religijskog simbola, identiteta i zajednice na primjeru razvoja, promjene i značenja kulta sv. Nikole u Dubrovniku kroz povijesni kontinuitet do suvremenih zbivanja.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This paper focuses on the potential of storytelling as a means of influencing students to become engaged with science and to choose a career in a STEM field. Given the role that leaders can play in motivating and influencing people and considering Nikola Tesla a leader in the fields of electrical engineering and science, the paper identifies Tesla’s leadership traits, as these emerge from his life story, that is, actual historical events regarding his life and his scientific/technological work. These leadership traits refer to (a) imaginative thinking and innovation, (b) persistence/perseverance, and (c) vision, and point to the need for empirical studies to document the effectiveness of the Nikola Tesla story to motivate and influence students. The significance of the Nikola Tesla story for science education is also discussed.

ABSTRACT The published memoirs of great scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla became subject of broad discussion. His discoveries and scientific forecasts are still of relevance to this day. Moreover - much of what he said, became clear only in 21st century, and something still remains a mystery. Did the 1895 fire accidentally ruin Tesla’s laboratory? What connected the genius with the Russian scientist Mikhail Filippov, the inventor of the «rays of death»? Philadelphia experiment. Worldwide wireless transmission system. How does it really look like? Priceless genius diaries, kept, if we follow the words of interpreter of the edition, in the archives for many years, not only shed light on his discoveries, but also reveal the secrets of this truly magical personality who managed to get ahead of time. Taking into account variety of legends and myths, surrounding the name of Nikola Tesla during his lifetime and continuing to follow his heritage till modern times, it can’t be excluded that the contents of the book will meet the doubts, but regardless of that it keeps provoking great interest. Keywords: Nikola Tesla, memoirs, archive, electrical engineering, inventions, declassified diaries, debunking of myths.

Abstract:
According to the virial theorem, a dipole has a small total energy at infinite negative potential energy and infinite positive kinetic energy, see [1] §10. Nikola Tesla was able to realize this energy in the car he built. The fundamental difficulties for creating a machine without an engine on gasoline energy have been overcome. But the experimental studies of Nikola Tesla were much ahead of the existing technologies, and according to my calculations, the breakdown voltage, for example, porcelain should be made orders of magnitude higher. Nikola Tesla could create a voltage of a billion volts, and according to modern data, the maximum voltage is a million volts. Moreover, it is necessary to use towers of great height to avoid breakdown. If we calculate the force created by the potential of the dipole and equate it with the force of attraction, then we will receive compensation for the gravitational field of the Earth.

Abstract:
In this essay, author analyses Nikola Milosevic's critique of Marxism. His methodological approach is the mixture of philosophy, literature and positive sciences, mostly psychology and history. His argument against Marxism consists of two parts: practical, mostly, ethical and political, and theoretical, mostly, methodological and epistemic. Ethical argument against Marxism is based on the idea of critical reconsideration of the relation between goals and means. For Milosevic, Marxism and real socialism are obvious examples of maxim: ?Goal justifies any means necessary for its achievement?. Such ethical standpoint justifies the regime of terror and manipulation. On the other hand, at the methodological and epistemic level, Marxism is an overt example of false theory in positivistic sense. It lacks logical consistency and empirical evidence. Being a theory without a scientific grounds, Marxism is a mere projection of the psychological and political attitudes of its author. Marxism is not a theory in traditional philosophical sense, it is just a theoretical rationalization of basic psychological and political attitudes of it creator and his successors.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The beginnings of the development of orthopedic surgery in Serbia have been related to the name of Dr Nikola Krstic and his first radiography of the hand in 1908. The foundation of the Orthopedic Ward, led by Dr Nikola Krstic, within the General State Hospital in Belgrade, in 1919, marks the definition of orthopedics as a separate branch of surgery. In addition to Dr Nikola Krstic, Dr Borivoje Lalovic and Temp. Docent Dr Borivoje Gradojevic, who published the first orthopedics textbook in Serbian in 1934, also worked at the orthopedic ward between the two world wars. The work at the orthopedic ward, which grew into a clinic in 1947, was continued by Prof. Dr Milos Simovic, Prof. Dr Svetislav Stojanovic and Prof, dr Ljubisa Boric. Their successors would have high achievements: Prof. Dr Zivojin Bumbasirevic became the only orthopedist who was a regular member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and Chief of Staff Dr Predrag Klisic and Prof. Dr Branko Radulovic provide impetus for further development of orthopedics by founding Specialist Orthopedics Hospital "Banjica".

Abstract:
Nikola Tesla and the Wright brothers, Wilbur and Orville, have worked and created in the United States of America in the period comprising the last two decades of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. All three of them were visionaries and creators of the modern technical age. In the Tesla's legacy, apart from his personal and technical items, press clippings, monographic and serial publications, there are also about 156,000 sheets of archival material which cover his entire life and work, both chronologically and thematically. Among these testimonies there are four original documents (a concept of a condolence letter, a copy of the sent condolence letter, a brief gratitude note and a formal invitation) that were exchanged between Nikola Tesla and probably Orville Wright, between 1912 and 1920. The oldest preserved document of their correspondence is the concept of Tesla's condolence letter to Orville Wright on the occasion of the death of his older brother. Two approved patents for the Wright brothers' aircraft model have been preserved as well, which testifies of the scientist's interest in their work and aviation research in general. Researching the correspondence between Nikola Tesla and Orville Wright, as well as the other documents from the scientist's legacy preserved in the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade, we have tried to highlight the details of his acquaintance with the Wright brothers, that is, a small fragment of his life and work which has remained almost unknown until today. Results of the research, presented in the form of a scientific research paper, contribute to a better understanding of the aviation history and reveal new details from the life stories of our renowned scientist and the two famous aviation pioneers. The publication of exclusive documents from Tesla's legacy is a contribution to the wider scientific community and a new reference point for all the researchers who are to cover similar topics in the future.
