Flexible planar eddy current probes are widely used to detect conductive components with complex surface. In this study, topological transformation is applied to design a differential Koch coil exciting eddy current probe. Two kinds of Koch exciting coils, Koch A and Koch B , were obtained by topological transformation from a three-dimensional differential exciting eddy current probe. Finite element model simulation is conducted to visualize the differences of eddy current distributions induced by the probes and get the defect signal. A novel energy-absorbing structure, the Koch hierarchical honeycomb, which combines the Koch geometry with a conventional honeycomb structure, is proposed in this work. Adopting a hierarchical design concept using Koch has improved the novel structure more than the honeycomb. The mechanical properties of this novel structure under impact loading are studied by finite element simulation and compared with the conventional honeycomb structure. To effectively verify the reliability of the simulation analysis, quasi-static compression experiments were conducted on 3D-printed specimens. The results

We propose the design of a novel fractal antenna that is both unique and performance-driven. Two important antenna design features, miniaturization and wideband operation, are combined in this work. The geometrical construction of the proposed antenna is compared to the standard Koch curve geometry. This thesis is an exploration of ancestral narratives in the fiction of Thomas Keneally and Christopher Koch. Initially, ancestry in literature creates an historical relationship which articulates the link between the past and the present. In this sense ancestry functions as a type of cultural memory where various issues of inheritance can be negotiated. However, the real value of ancestral narratives lies in their power to aid in the construction of both personal and communal identities. Since the success of his bestseller novel The Dinner in 2009, Dutch literary writer Herman Koch has been branded as ‘the most successful writer of the Netherlands’. In his media coverage, we encounter a narrative about his career that has all the characteristics of the ‘success myth’ of the contemporary celebrity. What can the construction of Koch’s success myth tell us about the norms that actors and institutions of the public media use when they talk about literature? How do Koch and his critics deal with the tension between different ways of contributing value in the literary field? And doe
