Abstract:
In earlier work devoted to Feliks Nowowiejski, detailed information concerning his family is lacking. It was only thanks to a query in the Archives of the Archdiocese of Warmia in Olsztyn that many new facts about the ancestors of this outstanding composer were established, as well as a complete list of his brothers and sisters. It turns out that Feliks Nowowiejski's father Franciszek Nowowieski (whose name was recorded in the books), married first Monika from Ratzki, with whom he had seven children. The last one was born dead, and two days later the mother also died due to cholera (16.09.1866

In the ancient culture of Greece, and then of Rome, when describing garments the colloquial term stola was used. But amongst many clothes of that time (stolae) a beautiful robe stood apart – stola, which was usually worn by wealthy matrons and as a result of transformations by men who were on the high-rank of the social hierarchy. Also Vulgate, introducing refined clothes, while at the same time the insignia of the dignity of a given person, used the term stola. In the first millennium of the Church stole, which was a garment that belonged to people with major orders, was defined as orarium or

The article is aimed at presenting piano and chamber music written by the forgotten composer of the period of the Young Poland. Born in Cracow to a family with rich music traditions, Jerzy Gablenz learned to play the piano, flute, cello and organ. But his main interest was to write music himself. As early as in his youthful years, he wrote songs and piano miniatures mainly dedicated to Małgorzaa Schoen, his future wife. He graduated from law school, but he also studied composition and theory of music with Władysław Żeleński, Feliks Nowowiejski and Zdzisław Jachimecki. His main occupation was m
