The chemical fingerprints of old, metal-poor stars can be used to unravel the events of the newborn Universe and help us understand the properties of the first stars and star clusters. The study of nearby stars to infer properties in the distant past is often referred to as Galactic archaeology. We report the peculiar chemical abundance patterns of 11 atypical Milky Way (MW) field red giant stars observed by the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE). These atypical giants exhibit strong Al and N enhancements accompanied by C and Mg depletions, strikingly similar to those observed in the so-called second-generation (SG) stars of globular clusters (GCs). We developed a pipeline to identify the copy number polymorphisms (CNPs) in the Northern Swedish population using whole genome sequencing (WGS) data. Two different methodologies were applied to discover CNPs in more than 1,000 individuals. The scope of this thesis was to identify, describe and quantify important life-history traits for the pseudoannual aquatic plant Ranunculus lingua in different ecological settings, by comparing populations from geographically marginal vs. central habitats. The Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua L.) fishery is of great economic importance to the Faroese economy. There are two separately managed cod stocks around the Faroe Islands, the Faroe Plateau and the Faroe Bank cod. Both have experienced dramatic decreases in size and informed management decisions are vital for both stock viability and exploitation. The country is in the progress of transforming into digital economy, evidenced through high growth in electronic commerce and customer interaction through social network, etc. (Cameron et al., 2019). According to the Statista (2020), number of smartphone users in Vietnam was nearly 36 million in the end of 2019 and it is expected at 43 million by 2022. The growth in smartphone market was captured at 84% in 2017 and 95% of people in the cities have owned smartphone while the percentage of people with smartphone usage in rural area is reached up 68% (Nielsen, 2019). One of the attractive points in smartphone market is high population based with more than 94 million people (General Statistics Office, 2020). Vietnamese people spent more time reading news, playing games and conducting social interactions through social media network (Appota, 2018).
