With the increasing number of single-parent households, children have come to have the highest poverty rate in the nation. In the mid-l960s, poverty among children was no worse than for the population as a whole; today, one child out of four is poor, and children are 50 percent more likely to be living in poverty (defined by the Government as an income of $11,204 or less for a family of four) than is the population as a whole.

The global COVID-19 pandemic has infected million people in Indonesia. East Java has experienced Indonesia’s epicentre of positive COVID-19 cases. The economic disruption in East Java due to COVID-19 pandemic has led to increase the number of poor people. This study aims to examine the determinants of poverty during the pandemic outbreak. In this study, we employed multiple linear regression. The results reveals that simultaneously the cumulative number of COVID-19, unemployment rate, Gini Ratio, population density, human development index (HDI), and GRDP per capita affect the risk of poverty

ABSTRACT We investigate the intrinsic scatter in the chemical abundances of a sample of metal-poor ([Fe/H] < −2.5) Milky Way halo stars. We draw our sample from four historic surveys and focus our attention on the stellar Mg, Ca, Ni, and Fe abundances. Using these elements, we investigate the chemical enrichment of these metal-poor stars using a model of stochastic chemical enrichment. Assuming that these stars have been enriched by the first generation of massive metal-free stars, we consider the mass distribution of the enriching population alongside the stellar mixing and explosion e

Poverty as a development issue is an important thing to pay attention. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze to prevent an increase in the number of poor people in an area, one of which is by considering the things that affect poverty estimates and knowing the model of the number of poor people that can later be used as predictions. East Java is the region in Indonesia with the highest population in Indonesia in 2019. One way to find out the influencing factors and at the same time to make a model of the number of poor people in East Java is by modeling with the Generalized Linear Model (GLM)

In recent years there has been observed a decrease in the natural population growth, although it remains relatively high. Analysis of the dynamics in fertility shows that in Karakalpakstan over the years of independence the crude birth rate has significantly decreased. Telomere length (TL) represents a promising biomarker of overall physiological state and of past environmental experiences, which could help us understand the drivers of life-history variation in natural populations. Here, we compare leucocyte TL from cross-sectional samples collected from two French populations of roe deer which experience different environmental conditions. We found that, as pr

ABSTRACT We present a comprehensive study of massive young stellar objects (YSOs) in the metal-poor galaxy NGC 6822 using IRAC and MIPS data obtained from the Spitzer Space Telescope. We find over 500 new YSO candidates in seven massive star formation regions; these sources were selected using six colour–magnitude cuts. Via spectral energy distribution fitting to the data with YSO radiative transfer models we refine this list, identifying 105 high-confidence and 88 medium-confidence YSO candidates. For these sources, we constrain their evolutionary state and estimate their physical properties.
