Abstract:
Multivariate Granger causality analysis is the study where at least one of the sets of independent and dependent variables includes more than 1 variable when these variables are conditioned on third set of variables in the analyzed system. causfinder reveals – via systemwise approaching the G-causalities – all conditional and partial Granger causalities in the system in any desired pattern formed by various distributions of these variables to these three sets. It also reveals the character of variables from more independent variables to dependent ones with the degrees and direction

Abstract:
This study aims to reveal the causality relations between the macro aggregates that affect current deficit using conditional and partial Granger causality test. Current deficit/GDP, growth rate, real effective exchange rate, direct foreign capital investment, openness, and energy import were selected as variables for this purpose. 2003.1-2014.2 quarterly data for Turkey’s economy were used for analysis. The results of the conditional and partial Granger causality test demonstrate that real effective exchange rate is the variable with greatest impact on current deficit

Abstract:
Using directed transfer function (DTF) and partial directed coherence (PDC) in the information version, this paper extends the theoretical framework to incorporate the instantaneous Granger causality (iGC) frequency domain description into a single unified perspective. We show that standard vector autoregressive models allow portraying iGC’s repercussions associated with Granger connectivity, where interactions mediated without delay between time series can be easily detected.

Detecting causal interrelationships in multivariate systems, in terms of the Granger-causality concept, is of major interest for applications in many fields. Analyzing all the relevant components of a system is almost impossible, which contrasts with the concept of Granger causality. Not observing some components might, in turn, lead to misleading results, particularly if the missing components are the most influential and important in the system under investigation. In networks, the importance of a node depends on the number of nodes connected to this node. The degree of centrality is the mos

Since the seminal work of Granger (1969), Granger causality has become a useful concept and tool in the study of the dynamic linkages between economic variables and to explore whether or not an economic variable helps forecast another one. Researchers have suggested a variety of methods to test the existence of Grangercausality in the literature. In particular, linear Granger causality testing has been remarkably developed; (see, for example, Toda & Philips (1993), Sims, Stock & Watson (1990), Geweke (1982), Hosoya (1991) and Hidalgo (2000)). Abstract In a panel discussion on future directions in econometrics Clive Granger expressed the opinion that statisticians and econometricians should pay more attention to methods of extracting information from large panels, given that such panels are becoming increasingly available. In this spirit, the present paper suggests a procedure for classifying linear conditional expectation functions in “medium-sized’’ panels, i.e. panels with a moderately large time dimension, and not too large a cross sectional dimension.
