Abstract:

During the first half of the 8th century, people from the Phoenician Levant came to southern Iberia and founded a chain of settlements along the Spanish Mediterranean coast, as well as the city of Gadir (modern Cadiz) on the Atlantic seaboard. It is generally agreed that these colonisers came to the region to exploit the rich deposits of precious metals. Oriental style objects, which indicate the exchange between the Phoenician settlers and indigenous communities, can be found in almost all indigenous early Iron Age sites in the region. The origins of Early Iron Age polity in south-east Cyprus have traditionally been attributed to the formal imposition of Phoenician dominion over Kition in 707 BC. Avaliou-se em laboratório a patogenicidade de 52 isolados de fungos entomopatogênicos a Brevipalpus phoenicis e a produção, em meio sólido, de quatro isolados de Hirsutella spp.. Utilizando-se microscópio eletrônico de varredura, estudou-se as etapas do ciclo biológico de Hirsutella sp. (isolado 1269) em adultos de B. phoenicis, além da ocorrência de transmissão horizontal deste patógeno para adultos do ácaro a partir de cadáveres esporulados e de substrato contaminado. O agronegócio citros ocupa 59.330 ha e produz por volta de 970 mil t., conferindo à Bahia a 2ª posição no ranking nacional da produção. Juntos, o Recôncavo Baiano (RB) e Litoral Norte (LN) respondem por 80% da análise de densidade espectral mostrou a ocorrência de dois ciclos no padrão de infestação, um de aproximadamente dois meses e outro, anual. This dissertation uses scientific analysis of pottery to examine social and economic process at a Phoenician colony in the Bay of Cádiz, Spain. Previous research on the Phoenician colonial economies has neglected social and diachronic dynamics, due to a lack of adequate data and proper theoretical frameworks.
