In this dissertation, we introduce combinatorial interpretations for three types of HallLittlewood polynomials (denoted Rλ, Pλ, and Qλ) by using weighted combinatorial objects called abacus-tournaments. We then apply these models to give combinatorial proofs of properties of Hall-Littlewood polynomials. For example, we show why various specializations of Hall-Littlewood polynomials produce the Schur symmetric polynomials, the elementary symmetric polynomials, or the t-analogue of factorials. Children are often occupants in cars and to ensure their safety, child restraint systems (CRSs) have been developed. However, CRSs need to be used correctly to be efficient. Nematode communities in black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) agricultural soil in Thanh An, Binh Phuoc province, were investigated. Soil samples were collected in February 2012 at 9 selected sites belonging to 3 pepper groves. The structure of nematode communities and critical ecological indices were determined to estimate environmental status. 26 genera were found. Of those, plant parasitic nematodes such as Meloidogyne, Helicotylenchus, Hoplolaimus, Psilenchus, and Tylenchidae always appear with high frequency and density, whereas the carnivorous nematodes were rarely detected.
