The life cycle of Streptocara crassicauda (Creplin, 1829) was studied experimentally in the amphipod Hyalella azteca (Saussure). Of 2946 H. azteca that survived exposure, 699 were infected. At 18–20 °C, moulting first-stage larvae were observed initially on day 11 and moulting second-stage larvae on day 15 post infection. The moult was not synchronous and moulting stages were found for several days after the initial observation. Third-stage larvae were found as early as day 19 post infection. The larval stages fo

Objectives: To analyze the main neurological changes resulting from the infection by COVID-19. Design and setting: Cross-sectional observational study. Methods: Literature review with articles published in 2020, in journals indexed in the PubMed and Scielo databases,

The article attempts to assess the impact of investment processes on the development of the Russian economy at the present stage. The diversification of regions when it comes to economic growth rates is largely due to the dynamics of investment processes as well as the erratically characteristics of the investment climate. Investment-attractive regions, formed as an economic core, have all the prerequisites for further economic growth alongside attracting investment. The regions with the highest investment risk and low economic potential despite the support measures taken by the state, still r

Background: Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a condition where pathogens invade the urinary tract and can travel up the urethra and into the bladder. UTIs occur more commonly in females compared to males and in the post-menopausal population this rate increases significantly. While these infections may be asymptomatic, they can also cause severe discomfort and lead to serious and even life threatening complications. Recent investigation into the vaginal microbiome has opened the doors to a possible mechanism behind the increased incidence of UTIs after menopause. Understanding the pathogenesis
