Based on the study of mathematic problems created by Clements in 1970 and 1983 in Penang, it was found that students in Malaysia do not have a problem of serious thought. However, the real problem is related to read, understand and make the right transformation when solving mathematical problems, especially those involving mathematical word problem solving. Communication is one of the important elements in the process of solving problems that occur in the teaching and learning of mathematics. Students have the opportunities to engage in mathematic communication such as reading, writing and lis

A high-quality recreational mathematics problem should be an intriguing problem that is easy to understand but challenging to solve. If the problem leads each would-be solver to a discovery of myriad ideas in mathematics, then so much the better. An example of such a problem was posed by the Reverend T. P. Kirkman in the Lady's and Gentleman's Diary for 1851 (Kirkman 1850).

Distance learning has gained immense popularity in recent years, providing flexibility and accessibility to education. However, the transition to distance learning, particularly in the field of mathematics, presents a unique set of challenges for both educators and students. This scientific article delves into the problems associated with distance learning in teaching mathematics and explores potential solutions to address these issues. By understanding and addressing these challenges, educators can enhance the effectiveness of online mathematics education.

This thesis, consisting of six papers and a summary, studies the area of continuous time financial mathematics. A unifying theme for many of the problems studied is the implications of possible mis-specifications of models. Intimately connected with this question is, perhaps surprisingly, convexity properties of option prices. We also study qualitative behavior of different optimal stopping boundaries appearing in option pricing.

In Paper I a new condition on the contract function of an American option is provided under which the option price increases monotonically in the volatility.

We investigate elliptic pseudodifferential operators which degenerate in an anisotropic way on a submanifold of arbitrary codimension. To find Fredholm problems for such operators we adjoint to them boundary and coboundary conditions on the submanifold. The algebra obtained this way is a far reaching generalisation of Boutet de Monvel's algebra of boundary value problems with transmission property. We construct left and right regularisers and prove theorems on hypoellipticity and local solvability.
