Abstract:
At present, in many regions of the Russian Federation, post-harvest processing of grain is carried out directly on the farms themselves. Produced grain is mainly used for fodder and seed purposes. This is predetermined by difficult weather conditions, and freshly harvested grain is fed to the post-harvest treatment unevenly, it has high humidity and debris, a significant heterogeneity of seeds by ripeness. Machines and equipment of grain cleaning and drying stations and complexes do not fully comply with the properties of the grain pile, which leads to a decrease in their throughput, disruptio

The article discusses the main causes of soybean crop losses, which can reach 25–30%. Most often, a high cut of the harvester's header, significant crushing and injury during harvesting, and violation of the post-harvest processing technology lead to losses and a decrease in the quality of commercial grain and seeds. The purpose of the research was to assess the impact of various factors on the amount of crop losses and develop recommendations for optimizing technological operations during harvesting and post-harvest processing of soybeans, compliance with which will ensure the minimization of

The need to maintain the thermal stability of grain at the stage of its elevator, often many hours, drying and subsequent storage limits the possibility of intensifying these processes. Shaft, column, drum and other dryers, modern granaries are bulky and energy-intensive, weakly or not at all connected with the subsequent stages of grain processing, which, in turn, are lengthy and multi-stage, which often leads to a decrease in the quality of the final product. For a cardinal solution to this problem, it is proposed to deliberately violate its thermal stability already at the stage of post-har

The use of electrophysical influences for pre-sowing treatment of seeds is an effective way to increase their sowing quality. The use of these methods is limited by the fact that their implementation requires new technological equipment in grain processing lines. This problem is solved more easily when pre-sowing processing is performed using installations for active ventilation and grain drying. Galvanic sludge is a solid waste produced by the surface treatment industry, classified as hazardous because of their high concentration of heavy metals, which in its final destination is disposed in waste disposal facilities, with economic costs to the holders. Through hydrometallurgical processing, it is possible to extract valuable metals, with low costs involved, while the hazardous level of the residue is reduced. In the present work, the heap leaching method was studied as a solution to the treatment of these residues, which in order to consist in a valuable option, processing and operat

Abstract:
The growing costs of conventional energy resources has significantly changed the economies and led to an increased demand for biomass. Biomass in its natural state has a high moisture content, which reduces the combustion efficiency and may cause problems in its processing. One of the most widely used forms of solid biomass concerns pellets that are often manufactured from saw dust. The manufacturing process requires that the raw material should be supplied in controllable conditions of humidity (in the order of 10%, dry basis); otherwise the final product will have poor mechanical properties.
