Preselling strategies have been a common marketing tool, but research on this selection is limited. Thus, we examine three pre-sale strategies of a manufacturer who produces and sells a seasonal product to a retailer: (1) supplier pre-sale strategy—the supplier carries out preselling by opening a direct channel; (2) retailer pre-sale strategy—the retailer purchases pre-sale products from the supplier and sells them in online and offline channels; and (3) joint pre-sale strategy—the retailer acts as a pre-sale platform, providing order information and pre-sale services. We estimate the returns to serving in Parliament, using original data on the estates of recently deceased British politicians. The survey was conducted among selected apiaries in North-eastern Bulgaria. It has been found that they achieve a small net profit when selling conventional honey in the organizational markets – EUR 3.78 kg-1. Some issues, that is concepts of consumer law seem indisputable, like "the concept of a trader". However, the practice of both national courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union sometimes denies this fact. The reason for this denial stems from the lack of a clear understanding and application of the concept of a trader, which is a basic concept for exercising consumer rights. The concept of " trader " (as a consumer contracting party), by the way, is based on two elements (cumulatively): the trader may be a natural or legal person (the first), who acts for purposes related to his t

Abstract:
Economic theory is inconclusive regarding the effects of banning third-degree price discrimination under imperfect competition because they depend on how the competing firms rank their market segments. When, relative to uniform pricing, all competitors want higher prices in the same market segments, a ban on price discrimination will reduce profits and benefit some consumers at the expense of others. If, instead, some firms want to charge higher prices in segments where their competitors want to charge lower prices, price discrimination increases competition driving all prices down. In this ca

This paper attempts to define the factors which determine emigration and rice doublecropping, i.e. rice cultivation on the same plot twice per year, by rural households in Cambodia, and investigates whether these decisions influence each other using data from a two-period panel survey of 231 households in three provinces in rural Cambodia. In the analysis, we take into account possible correlation between these decisions (through estimating a seemingly unrelated bivariate probit model) and unobserved heterogeneity among farmers (through estimating a random-effects probit model). The emergence of global value chains (GVCs) in recent years has highlighted the increasing reliance of manufacturing industries on services. Manufacturing firms have intensively used service inputs, performed in-house service activities, and sold services embedded in or bundled with goods. Considered a services economy, the Philippines could leverage services to develop a competitive manufacturing sector and strengthen GVC integration. This study assessed the servicification of the Philippine manufacturing sector in the context of trade and GVCs. Using trade in value added data, evidence shows
