Abstract:
We formulate the relationship of quasi-Laplacian energy of some novel classes of graphs with their corresponding original graphs. The novel graphs in our discussion are the -graph, -graph, -graph, total graph, and their join and corona operations graphs. The whole formulation is based on the relationship between quasi-Laplacian energy and the vertex degrees of the novel graph. It is also noted that quasi-Laplacian energy is closely related with the first Zagreb index, number of vertices and edges of the graph. The exact formulas of quasi-Laplacian energy of novel graphs are obtained in terms o

This paper is devoted to the study of the quasi-total strong differential of a graph, and it is a contribution to the Special Issue “Theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics” of Symmetry. Given a vertex x∈V(G) of a graph G, the neighbourhood of x is denoted by N(x). The neighbourhood of a set X⊆V(G) is defined to be N(X)=⋃x∈XN(x), while the external neighbourhood of X is defined to be Ne(X)=N(X)∖X. Now, for every set X⊆V(G) and every vertex x∈X, the external private neighbourhood of x with respect to X is defined as the set Pe(x,X)={y∈V(G)∖X:N(y)∩X={x}}. Let Xw={x∈X:Pe(x,X)≠⌀}. Th

Domination theory is a well-established topic in graph theory, as well as one of the most active research areas. Interest in this area is partly explained by its diversity of applications to real-world problems, such as facility location problems, computer and social networks, monitoring communication, coding theory, and algorithm design, among others. In the last two decades, the functions defined on graphs have attracted the attention of several researchers. The Roman-dominating functions and their variants are one of the main attractions. Abstract:
The buy-at-bulk network design problem has been extensively studied in the general graph model. In this paper, we consider geometric versions of the problem, where all points in a Euclidean space are candidates for network nodes, and present the first general approach for solving them. It enables us to obtain quasi-polynomial-time approximation schemes for basic variants of the buy-at-bulk geometric network design problem with polynomial total demand. Then, for instances with a single sink and low capacity links, we design fast polynomial-time, low-constant approximation algorithms.

With CMOS technology scaling, leakage power is expected to become a significant portion of the total power. A dual-threshold CMOS circuit, which has both high and low threshold transistors in a single chip, can be used to deal with the leakage problem in high performance applications. This paper presents dual-threshold voltage technique for reducing leakage power dissipation of Quasi Delay Insensitive asynchronous pipelines while still maintaining high performance of these circuits. We exploited the Dependency Graph model to produce a formal performance analysis. In order to reduce leakage pow

The Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem with Time-Dependent Demands (CVRPTD) is a significant optimization challenge in the logistics and transportation domain, characterized by dynamic customer demands, strict time windows, and heterogeneous vehicle fleets. This study focuses on urban parcel delivery operations as the primary object of research. The problem addressed involves the inefficiency of conventional vehicle routing strategies in adapting to time-varying customer demands and operational constraints, which often lead to increased costs and service delays. Most rocks in nature are porous and usually saturated with different fluids such as water, oil, and gas. The conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs are mainly associated with sedimentary formations. The main rocks of these reservoirs are sandstone (porous rock), limestone and oil shale (tight rock), which are associated with varying porosity. Hence, porosity serves as a fundamental parameter for most reservoir rocks. In this research, the effect of porosity on the mechanical behaviour of geo-materials and its fatigue behaviour was investigated. For this purpose, a total of five

Variational methods and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) have been extensively employed for the mathematical formulation of a myriad of problems describing physical phenomena such as heat propagation, thermodynamic transformations and many more. In imaging, PDEs following variational principles are often considered. In their general form these models combine a regularisation and a data fitting term, balancing one against the other appropriately. Total variation (TV) regularisation is often used due to its edgepreserving and smoothing properties. In this thesis, we focus on the design of T
