Abstract:
A new genus and species of rhagionids with a long proboscis, Elliprhagio macrosiphonius gen. et sp. nov., is described from the Middle Jurassic Jiulongshan Formation in Daohugou, Inner Mongolia, China, which is considered to be the earliest hematophagous rhagionid described hitherto according to the typically piercing and sucking mouthparts. All previously documented rhagionids from northeastern China are reviewed a key to genera of Rhagionidae from Daohugou is provided for the first time. The genus Daohugorhagio Zhang, 2013 is considered as a new synonym of Trichorhagio Zhang, 2013.

Abstract:
Species of the families Rhagionidae, Athericidae and Vermileonidae (Diptera) are reported from Corsica. The family Rhagionidae is represented by six species, including two endemic species of Rhagio. Both these species, R. beckeri and R. corsicanus, are recorded from the island for the first time in a century. Most species of Rhagionidae are associated with forest. The family Athericidae is represented by two species, both characteristic of cold, running waters. Abstract:
Rhagionidae (Brachycera, Tabanomorpha) is a widespread family of the order Diptera, containing ca. 720 species in 22 genera and distributed worldwide. Chrysopilus Marquart is one of the most speciose genus of Rhagionidae. Here we describe Chrysopilus kafkai sp. nov. Cegolin & Santos, the first record of a rhagionid species from Serra da Bodoquena, in the Midwest Brazilian region, and includes an identification key and a distribution map to the Brazilian species of Chrysopilus. The species description is complemented by a molecular characterization of the 28S rRNA sequence.

Abstract:
The genera and species of Chilean rhagionids (Diptera: Rhagionidae) are listed, with annotated references to nomenclature, synonymies and generic combinations, type localities, the primary type depositories, distribution, and citations for the most recent revisions. The genus Atherimorpha White is the richest genus in Chile, with 15 described species. Only Leptis basalis Philippi, 1865 is kept as incertae sedis in the family.
