The present study focuses on the limnogeological aspects of the lakes Sagara and Nyamagoma within the Malagarasi Wetland Ecosystem. Abiotic parameters from water and sediment samples were determined during the dry and wet seasons using appropriate gears and methods. One of the causes of the silting of the Sagara Anakan, estuary of Citanduy River is due to sedimentation caused by changes in land use, which causes the erosion rate to become uncontrollable. To predict the rate of surface erosion of the Ciseel watershed, one of Citanduy tributary, the USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) method was used, while the Geographic Information System was used to assist in the analysis of spatial data. The results of the analysis of the rate of erosion in the Ciseel watershed show that in 2006 it was 28 tons/ha/yr, in 2012 it was 44.2 tons/ha/yr and in 2016 it was 49.

Abstract:

Musa paradisiaca L. (Musaceae) cultivar ‘Puttabale’ is an indigenous banana commonly cultivated in the farmyards of Chitradurga,Davanagere, Chikmagalur and Shivamogga district of Karnataka. The fruits are valued for delicious taste. This banana cultivar is highlysusceptible to Fusarium infection and the yield loss has estimated to 30-40% at standing stage. The taxonomy of Palearctic Elachista species similar to E. deceptricula Staudinger, 1880 is revised. Five species are treated: E. spumella Caradja, 1920, E. deceptricula Staudinger, Elachista athroa Kaila, sp. n. from Turkey, E. conferta Kaila sp. n. from Spain, and E. sagara Kaila sp. n. from Kyrgyzstan. Lectotype is designated for E. spumella Caradja. These species are assigned to the Elachista dispilella complex sensu Kaila in Elachista subgenera Aphelosetia. The E. dispilella complex now comprises 24 species.
