The article examines the issues of insufficient transparency in the business environment and the availability of information regarding tariffs in the seaports of Ukraine for the potential recipient of services, which should be sufficient for them to make informed decisions. But the problem is that some of the information is publicly available, and some can be obtained only as a result of negotiations with potential service providers. The list of port operators for each seaport of Ukraine is given in the Register of Seaports of Ukraine. Development of the logistics infrastructure of the seaports in the Caspian region is conditioned by their geographical location in the south of Russia and by high transit potential on the Trans-Caspian route of the international transport corridor North-South. The lack of inter-organizational coordination, as well as the limited investment opportunities of sea terminal operators do not allow to compete with the transnational transport and logistics companies engaged in foreign trade transportation along the vectors “West-East” and “North-South”. In this study, a robust model for forecasting passenger arrivals at the Vlora seaport was developed using the Facebook Prophet method. The analysis was based on monthly data for the period 2014 - 2024, with the aim of filling the gap in the Albanian literature, in which advanced forecasting approaches for seaports are lacking. Through a comparative analysis with other forecasting methods (ARIMA, Holt-Winters, Monte Carlo, and artificial neural networks), it was found that the FB Prophet model explains 96.7 % of the data variance with a MAPE of 24.95 %, suggesting high forecasting accuracy. In response to changes taking place in the global environment, seaport terminal operators constantly search for lines of development in their operations, choosing i.a. a strategy of diversification or specialisation. So far, the issue of applying a diversification strategy in business models used by operators of multipurpose terminals has not been sufficiently addressed in the literature on the subject. In view of the above, the purpose of this paper is to identify and hierarchize the motivations for diversification and to specify the areas of diversification strategies and corresponding measu

Abstract Given the massive flows of containers that mega vessels deliver to seaport freight terminals, the terminal and transport operators face major accessibility and congestion challenges. To address those challenges, five information services, named as access management services, are identified that can mobilize interorganizational information flows to achieve effective terminal and transport processes. In those processes, previous research has examined the effects of such services only in the access phase, that is, when containers are loaded and/or unloaded, leaving out the potential effe

The opening of the seaport torgsins became part of a nationwide centralization of hard-currency operations to provide for industrial development. Abstract:
This paper maps patterns of maritime trade in the Commonwealth with a view to exploring the effects of the pandemic and policy implications for post-COVID recovery and resilience-building in Commonwealth countries. The main findings are as follows. First, a significant presence in global coastlines, seaports and container traffic means that maritime trade is fundamental to Commonwealth countries’ global and intra-Commonwealth trade. Second, the sudden onset of the pandemic led directly to a moderate decline in shipping and maritime trade as well as indirect falls in maritime support services.
